The religion of Christianity has a foundation that is based around the teachings of Jesus whose life story is told in the New Testament in the Bible. There are many religions in our society today but there are two that really stand out and almost seem to want to destroy each other. This is pretty insane to me because they both have very similar history and their major leaders have very similar almost messages. Jesus is the main prophet of Christianity and Mohammed is the main prophet of Islam. Jesus and Mohammad have many followers, but the Muslims considered Mohammad as one of the greatest prophets ever, while others would consider Mohammed totally inferior to Jesus. Jesus was born the son of Mary of the virgin birth. It is said that Mary was a virgin at the time of Jesus’s birth and that Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit.…

Jesus was born to Mary and Joseph sometime in the fourth century according to the gospel of Matthew. The exact date is not sure because there were no records kept at that time. It was told that Mary had conceived a child before she was married to Joseph. In that time, it was taboo to have a child before marriage. When Joseph found out about this, he was going to call off the wedding. That night an angel appeared to him in a dream and told him that Mary was a virgin. Mary had conceived through an immaculate conception by the Holy Spirit. The Angel said that Mary would have a male child, and he should call him Jesus.…

Christianity and Islam are two of the most practiced religions in the world, and have been for centuries. These two faiths are both monotheistic, which means they worship one God, or Allah. Started over 2000 years ago, Christianity is based on the teachings and life of Jesus Christ and was spread throughout the Roman Empire. The religion of Islam began early in 600 C.E. by the prophet Muhammad, and he spread the word of Allah. These religions spread quickly in Europe and the Middle East. As they progressed, new trading routes came about in these areas. Overtime, Christianity and Islam developed opinions about the trading and businesses activity and the people who pursued it. From humble beginnings, Jesus Christ grew to be a major Jewish leader in the First Century AD, gaining a huge group of followers, but also a faction of Jewish priests who resented his teachings and growing power. Christians believe Jesus was born to Mary, who was a virgin but is purported to have conceived through the works of the Holy Spirit (7). She discovered this when the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary and told her she would give birth to Jesus, the Son of God (11-Luke 1.26-35). Ironically, although our entire calendar is based on the tradition of Jesus’ birth taking place in the year 1 AD, this is probably not the case. The Bible doesn’t list specific dates, only reference points such as the Roman governor at the time Jesus was born.…

The history of Christianity goes back into Jewish ancestry and revolves around the 300 prophecies in the Old Testament, which reveals the upcoming of a Jewish Messiah who would be a Savior of humanity. Around 2000 years ago this prophecy was fulfilled by the birth of Jesus from the Virgin Mary in the town of Bethlehem in the land of Israel. He brought a hope of delight to the poor and rejected ones. The New Testament book of Luke (1:26-38) and Matthew (1:18-25) explains the virgin birth of Jesus. The birth of Jesus Christ also claimed a revolution and the revival of the teachings of Judaism. In the beginning Christianity was considered as a sect of Judaism. As Jesus said, "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." (Matthew 5:17). But later on, the teachings of Jesus established the foundation of Christianity. The concept of salvation and eternal peace blessed the gloomy hearts.…
