Jenni Lake Persuasive Speech
“I’m done, I did what I was supposed to. My baby is going to get here safe.” Were one of the last words Idaho teen Jenni Lake said after delivering her baby. Jenni was diagnosed with astrocytoma in 2009 a form of cancer centered in the brain and spinal cord that is almost always fatal by the time she was 16. She would undergo intensive treatment with doctors telling she would have a 30% chance of living only 2 years, Doctors also stated that due to her state she wouldn’t be able to get pregnant which troubled the teen. Around 2010 Jenni Lake discovered she was pregnant with her long-time boyfriend Nathan Wittman which started the unfortunate decision for Jenni to continue treatment and seek other options for the baby or to stop treatment and give birth to a possible healthy baby. Jenni chose to stop treatment for her baby the ultimate sacrifice a mother could do. In cancer cases there’s no real cure for it even if the cancer was gone in your system there still a high chance for it to appear again and you’ll have to go through the whole process again. My advice for a decision like this is not just think about yourself but think about the entire medical situation if doctors are telling you there’s a low chance of you not surviving from this disease but you’re given a chance to bring a baby that can be healthy into the world due to your condition is a miracle to begin with. Jenni did the right thing in my eyes it takes a lot strength to come to this kind of decision but it was the right decision because it was

I couldn't even imagine just giving just the most precious and dearest thing ever away. I just wouldn’t be able to carry a kid for 9 months and just one day decide to give the my own precious creation away. If I did, I would seek help and talk to someone so i can get through it all. The adoptees though, are very generous for taking their time to search for the children and financially raise them. They take over on the part that the biological mothers couldn't do, and I am very thankful to know there are kind people in the…

Taking the responsibility of becoming a parent comes with many emotionally and morally challenging decisions of right and wrong. Mr. and Mrs. Ayala have been faced with one of the toughest moral dilemma's that parents could be confronted with. Their only daughter who is twenty has recently been diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer known as leukemia. The chances of recovery are extremely slim without a rare bone marrow transplantation from a close blood match. The problem linked to this process is that the blood needs to come from a sibling, which Anissa does not have. The Ayala's have considered having another child in order to give Anissa the best chances of survival. The parents know that the best chance for her survival is to have another child which may possibly possess the matching bone marrow. Since their only daughter has lived a healthy, loving and wonderful twenty years along side them, they want to do whatever possible to save her. They know she deserves the right to live life, love, and achieve all the goals that a young lady could desire. The “respect for life” is obviously strong with these parents since they are willing to do anything in their power to save their precious only daughter. They know for a fact that their daughter should have a long life ahead of her with a lot of potential. The author of “Life's Dominions,” Robert Dworkin best describes the frustrating dilemma on hand: “If you believe that the natural investment in a human life is transcendently important, that the gift of life itself is infinitely more significant than anything the person whose life it is may do for himself, important though that may be, you will also believe that a deliberate, premature death is the greatest frustration of life possible, no matter how limited or cramped or unsuccessful the continued life may be. Clearly, the moral dilemma they are faced with is whether or not they should conceive another child solely for the…
