James Watt Research Paper
From ancient to modern times, human beings have created a large number of achievements to help live a better life. And one thing cannot be ignored is the concentration engineers have made during the past hundreds of years. The first thing I learned from the video is how hard and persistent an engineer should be to achieve something.

James Watt is the person who impressed me most. Before I listened to our classmate’s speech about Watt and saw the video, I thought he just found how the hot steam from a kettle worked and nothing more. In my opinion, he was just a curious and lucky person good at observing things. However, after the class, I find out he is really somebody. Common stories about Watt do not tell how hard he was and how difficult

In my opinion, the first step is to save energy. For instance, we should discuss how to feed more crops and scores of livestock with less energy. It seems hard. But what we can do is first dealing with small things. Trying best to not waste is like a global mission with energy saving bulbs and other similar things and so on. Making best use of resources we for now we have is the most efficient and important. We also need to pay much attention to recycling sources recyclable. The second step is to discover or create alternative energy source. Solar energy, wind energy source, tidal energy and hydro energy are good energies. They are also pollution free at the same time. Based on those listed above, we need to develop technological innovations and make them cheaper and faster. Especially in some countries where there is a large number of energy sources, but low standard of technological innovations is provided there. So it is a must to spread high standard of technological innovations all over the world. One way to achieve that is to reduce the cost of new technology. That is exactly what engineers should pay attention

Unfortunately, developing countries have placed economic activity before environmental issues. They have reduced manufacturing costs by utilizing inefficient, low technology methods. This puts countries at a disadvantage because they are more likely to be exposed to extreme weather and they have fewer resources to adapt to this than developed countries do. Living in a modern developed country we should improve the lives of the less fortunate by providing them with resources to help prevent their homes from being damaged and also information on how to be more eco-friendly. With the problem of people on the streets, there should be homes where people could have access to and better their lives and become independent. The first most important issue to target is how we could decrease the quantity of carbon dioxide being polluted into the atmosphere to decrease the effects on poor people and people that depend on the resources of earth to…

We live in world where change is the only constant and where Engineers proliferate at an alarming pace and to stand out of this crowd. I have realized the importance of engineering in every factor of contemporary living right from agriculture to the automotive and space sciences. It has constantly been pushing the barriers of practicality. I have coveted for a way where I could strengthen my basics, emphasize on improvement and apply my fantasy to make it a reality. As years passed, the interest in it only rooted deeper. To say that my own profound interest in the field of Mechanical Engineering has been natural, is no hyperbole, and this is precisely what this Statement of Purpose would bloom along as I go further.…

Though suffering from my inferiority, I have discovered the strength to enter the world of engineering. Tools and machines will never disappoint—when one puts a quarter-inch wrench on a quarter—inch bolt, it works. I don’t have to be the smartest or the prettiest to gain other’s recognition, and I don’t need to please anyone in the engineering world. As long as I understand the mechanics, I can accomplish anything if I try hard enough - the efforts I put it will always become the outcome I wished…

I believe the best and most effective answer to that question is reduce the amount of energy that we use. The first and simplest step is to reduce your power consumption. Creating power is one of the largest uses of fossil fuels which means the less power made, the less fossil fuels used. Everybody can use less power by simply turning off lights and unplugging appliances when not in use. Most appliances continue to consume power even after they have been turned off, if everybody just unplugged their electronics or switched off the power strip energy would become a lot more sustainable. Another huge problem with the world is automobiles. While most people love their cars and don’t want to lose the freedom to go anywhere their thoughts might be changed when they look at all the negatives cars produce. First, is all the time, energy, and resources used to make a car. Most car parts are made from expendable ores and minerals and then shipped across the globe. This not only uses up mineral reserves in the production of the parts but consumes large amounts of petroleum energy in the transportation process. Then, as everybody knows all these cars consume huge amounts of energy in the form of gas every day, this will deplete our oil supply in no time. Cars also need roads to drive on. Roads are the leading consumer of the United States mineral resources, and the…
