Jake Frey Monologue
Jake Frey. A name that carries weight, and fame. Though, the person fortunate, or unfortunate enough to own this name, knows what kind of fame he has. I know what it is I’m famous for. I’m a survivor and a victim, but of course, to some I am a monster. What happened to me all those years ago was not in my control. It’s not my fault that man had decided to come to my school, shoot many of my friends, and even myself. I was only hit in the lower left portion of my back, but playing dead saved me. He had watched as I tried to escape with my girlfriend Lucy, and my best friend Ezekiel, and my sister Raven.
Raven and Ezekiel were fortunate enough to get away, they didn’t see what I had become in the moment he walked over and said that he would be

Even then I still was kicking and screaming, almost trying to attack the officers holding me. I had to watch as I was carried away from the school, carried away from the girl’s dead body. Nick, Lucy, Raph, and Jenna were only a few names that I could tell you about. There were many more as well, but they weren’t very close to me.
Knowing all this, receiving a text from Lucy while I was driving was the last thing I expected. Eleven years later, I get a text from this girl, this dead girl. I had checked my phone once it vibrated, looking to see who it was. The only reason I forgot about my driving is because I saw those four letters, combined to spell her name. Go home? Go where she died in front of me as well as all the others? I couldn’t. I wouldn’t. I was many states away from Kansas and never planned on going back. As thoughts ran through my mind on how this was possible, I failed to realize the fact that I was heading straight into a tree, and fast. Looking up, I attempted to turn, only managing to crash into a different tree. I shook vigorously before seeing nothing but

Everett Gray couldn’t tell you the last time he could properly breathe. Even during hockey competitions, there had always been an issue where he couldn’t quite get the amount of air that he really needed to keep going. Sweat would run down his cold skin, as he pulled at the collar of his uniform. His chest would heave, yet all the air seemed to get stuck in his throat, turning into a suffocating lump. He felt his phone vibrating in his pocket, but he refused to make a move to look at the messages being sent.…

As soon as she pulled onto the highway, the lightning flashed across the sky and she knew it would start raining soon. Ruth was unfamiliar with the curvy roads, and slowed down when the rain started forming a lake on the road in front of her, making it difficult for her to see the lines on the highway. Dark clouds hung slightly above the road and the sounds of rain beating against the car bothered her. “Perhaps I shouldn’t have chosen this day to ghost hunting,” she said as the inside windows fogged over, turning on the defroster she calmed down and sang along with the radio.…

    Sam Winchester Monologue

You expected Sam Winchester to taste like coffee and peppermint. The coffee was obvious, there was rarely a day that he went without at least one cup, usually it was a lot more than one. Dean joked that it was the only unhealthy thing that Sam did regularly. The peppermint came from the mints he would pop between cups, the sweet sent clinging to his breath long after the little candy has disintegrated. When you weren’t really thinking about it, you would watch the little white mints disintegrate on his tongue while he spoke. The smell faint in the air with every breath he took.…

I remember the bone-chilling feeling of seeing the black almost hearse-like car coming to take me away from the only place I was familiar with. I remember the feeling of confusion, the feeling of sorrow, and the feeling of anger. I remember getting into the car and smelling the old, damp, mildewed scent of previous the rider’s tears. The tears I had grown so accustomed to. I remembered how I wished to scream and squeal, like the brakes, when the car stopped at my new quarters. I remember telling myself, “Don’t get comfortable Josh, because you won’t be here long, right? I’ll be home soon. Right?” I remember the feeling of being abandoned, the feeling of being unwanted, feeling just plain alone. Throughout my years as a foster child and adolescent, I moved in and out of countless houses, met and said goodbye to countless families, friends, and teachers.…
