He was found on the sidewalk in the countryside of Mississauga, Ontario. Jackson had a terrible blood clot while he was biking in the middle of Central Pkwy road with his baby around 8p.m. Although he experienced a great amount of pain, he still maneuvered his bicycle to the sidewalk in order to avoid other cars from hitting the baby. However, he lost his consciousness and hit his elbow on the ground. He was sent to a hospital by a man who passed by him. Unluckily, he didn’t make it. After he died, his doctor said:” He could have survived if he chose to get off the bike and lay down on the ground right after the blood clot happened instead of bearing the pain and moving the bike to the sidewalk.” Mr. Brown, the man who sent Jackson to the hospital, described:” There were lots of cars on the road at that time. Johnson moved his bicycle to the sidewalk in order to save his child; he displayed fatherly love.” …show more content…

Richard L. Johnson sits completely at ease in a black jacket, black slacks, and a black long sleeve turtleneck when others would be sweating in this El Paso heat, drinking a venti white chocolate mocha from Starbucks. His only adornment is a simple watch and a silver cross that hangs from a silver necklace. He sips his drink and watches the people coming and going, smiling pleasantly when one of his fellow patrons happens to meet his gaze. But it’s not his appearance that draws one’s eyes to him--even though he is a dark man, wearing dark clothes with a shock of white hair and matching goatee. Mr. Johnson just seems to command attention and…

In the story, “Charles,” by Shirley Jackson, some facts about the story could help the reader believe that the most careless reader could not see through Laurie's lies because they would not care about the story. Also, they probably wouldn't pay too much attention if they were reading it and they didn't care about it. Another thing is that when Laurie comes home he doesn't act like he's been in trouble, so the parents don't worry about him being in trouble.
