It is not clear as to if the FBI suspects any mental illness of this heinous murderer but one would have to assume some mental defect would have to be present to motivate someone to commit such violent and gruesome crimes against these “ladies of the night”. There is no physical evidence of Jack the Ripper torturing his victims before he killed them. But crime fighting techniques were still in their very early stages at the time of Jack’s killings. The common hope is that these poor women were not still alive when he performed any of these mutilations on them. It appears that Jack did not have any interest in making these women suffer, but was very interested ripping them apart once they were dead. Some psychologists believe that Jack had a bad experience with one of these “working girls”. Perhaps one that resulted in a sexually transmitted disease, or even a robbery.
