Italian Cuisine and Pizza
Pizza
Pizza is an oven-baked, flat, round bread typically topped with a tomato sauce, cheese and various toppings. Pizza was originally invented in Naples, Italy, and the dish has since become popular in many parts of the world.. Many varieties of pizza exist worldwide, along with several dish variants based upon pizza.
Pizza`s in Pakistan
The first pizzerias opened up in Karachi and Islamabad in the late 1980s, with Pappasallis serving pizza in Islamabad since 1990. Pizza has gained a measure of popularity in the eastern regions of Pakistan namely, the provinces of Sindh, Punjab, and Azad Kashmir, as well as the autonomous territory of Gilgit-Baltistan. Pizza has not penetrated into western Pakistan; of the remaining provinces and territories of Pakistan, only one (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) has seen much of the dish, in the form of a single Pizza Hut in Peshawar. In the regions where pizza is known, spicy chicken and sausage-based pizzas are very popular, as they cater to the local palate.

Health matters

Disadvantages
In contrast to the traditional Italian pizza used in the research, popular pizza varieties in many parts of the world are often loaded with high fat cheeses and fatty meats, a high intake of which can contribute to obesity, itself a risk factor for cancer.
Pizza can be high in salt, fat and calories. There are concerns about negative health effects.

In my research, I found several opinions of the origin, but there is a consensus that this baked goodness is over one thousand years old. Ed Behr of Art of Eating newsletter states, "The written record of the word pizza, in the sense of foccacia, goes back to the Codex Cajetanus of the year 997." And there is speculation that even Plato spoke of pizza in his Republic: "They will provide from their barley and flour from their wheat and kneading and cook these… they (the cakes) will also have relishes – salt… and of olives and cheese; and onions and greens."     Our meal can be described as flavorful, delectable, and appealing. When our waiter set down our food, the first thing I saw was the fourteen dollar Margherita pizza. The pizza was neat and the basil was not spread evenly across the pizza like “Italian” places I often visit—I recently learned that it is the true Italian way to do it. The pizza, ranging from fourteen to eighteen dollars, at Doppio Zero is made with flour imported from Italy, which helps the pizza be cooked to the ideal Italian way. When taking a slice of the pizza, I noticed underneath the slice, there was some charring; which is what everyone wants on a wood fire pizza. When taking the first bite of pizza, the flavor captured my attention in that it was sweet. The crust was a soft and a malleable dough, and the char on the crust was perfect. The taste of the dulcet pizza made me crave more. The next dish was eighteen dollars. We ordered the marechiaro, which has squid ink pasta with jumbo shrimp, clams, roasted garlic, and was infused with light tomato sauces—these ingredients are often not pleasing for me to eat. The pasta is mixed with squid ink and then soaked into tomato sauce to fully absorb the tomato taste. The presentation was remarkable, it made me want to eat it because it looked so appetizing.
