Network consultant scenarios
Case project 3.1
To solve the shared bandwidth problem with the company network new equipment is necessary. First off the 10mbps Ethernet hub should be replaced with a 100mbps, due to its better performance. An extended star topology with a logical switch topology will be the best setup for the situation. As for the five new computers a wireless approach will be best. For this method each new addition will need to be equipped with a wireless NIC (network interface card). To connect these to the network a wireless router and a wireless access point will also be needed. Case project 3.2
EBiz.com would benefit with a switched logical and a physical extended star topology. The network will be server based. 250 computers plus five servers will be attached to the network. A central switch/router is the easiest network device to reconfigure. A peer to peer topology will offer best access to the networks medians bandwidth.
Case project 3.3
ENorm Inc.’s network will be server based with 105 computers attached to the network. With the given availability the best topology would be a physical star topology logical switch topology by means of physical star topology.
For all three settings given the conditions in which to work with a client server based model is the choice. This choice is made for a few different reasons while considering multiple factors. First off client server includes an option for flexibility. That is growth and, or modification to any existing device, or future additions to the system. The design, implication, material, and budget demands are reasonably accomplishable. A client server offers tighter security through a central database which houses an array of customized permissions which allows an appointed user whatever access is needed. A client server base model is reasonably equipped to accommodate the expanding business to the business with everything

In the deployment of the Bench Fitness upgrade, we will utilize a partial-mesh topology. Although Bench Fitness has several locations, the nature of their business does not require an investment in multiple dedicated circuits. A dedicated T1 between server locations will allow dedicated communication between the Server 1 and Server 2 locations for server replication. Each Server location will require a CSU/DSU, router, and switch to accommodate the circuit provisioning. Other locations will utilize commercial grade internet services from the local cable provider. Reference the following drawings for a visual concept of the WAN layout as well as the circuit connectivity connections at…

In this DB response I first will describe the configuration of the Hybrid Topologies. There are five different kinds of topologies. Witch type you use will depend on how much money you want to spend, how you want to set things up and how many CPUs you will be using on the network. It’s called hybrid topology because two different kind of wire network if needed, and can’t be set up by the conventional process. Setting up a hybrid topology has some good and bad perspectives. The good things are effectiveness, flexibility, it is reliable and scalable. Some of the bad things about the hybrid topology set up are, expensive infrastructure, and hub. Also it is a very complex way to set up a network.…

An enterprise level company wishes to set up a network to support several hundred business users as well as manufacturing equipment in a new building. Describe what network device or devices you would recommend they purchase and explain why. Note, you are not required to detail the media or topology utilized, but thinking about these will help you to choose and justify your device choices. I would suggest the purchase of a rack system with two servers on large server to handle the few hundred computers and users and the other to handle the manufacturing equipment. This would give them choices for backups and file sharing between one another. The servers…

The answer I selected was C, because solution that was proposed does not achieve the required results but does achieve one of the optional results. CAT 5 UTP cables being installed to the current networks will not satisfy the any of the results required or optional. The hub should be replaced by a switch which can support the speeds that some of the equipment can handle in this case is upwards of 100 mbps due to the adapter cards. These are options that can be addressed as the company grows, and by installing the higher speed cards it limits the possible future costs of upgrading. Increasing the RAM may help to increase speeds, but purchasing additional servers would be more beneficial in the long term allowing room for growth. While the information provided does not state the amount of ram, additional servers would in fact speed up the network, free up traffic and allow for growth.…
