The collection of short stories and the depiction of characters in them affects our understanding of humanity, isolation, and betrayal through their actions, ideas, and personalities. Isolation can be beneficial or detrimental depending on the situation. For example, if a person isolates themselves from others when they’re upset may temporarily calm them down and help them to gather their thoughts, however it is good to have someone else to talk to instead of trying to deal with a problem all by themselves.
