Isle Of The Lost Book Summary
Isle of the Lost Book Report
By Sammie Unger
In the beginning of the story, I found out that all the villains from the fairy tales we all banished from the United States of Auradon, and imprisoned on the Isle of the Lost. They no longer had their powers and had to live on the scraps that were brought to the Isle from
Auradon.
The whole island was invited to the 6th birthday of a princess, Evie, daughter of the Evil
Queen, except for 1 child, Mal, daughter of Malefiecent. They were given “baddie bags” which held a variety of evil sidekicks to choose from –baby moray eels, hyenas, black kittens, and parrots. Mal was upset at not being invited to the party, so Maleficent exclaimed that Evil
Queen and her daughter should never show themselves to

Evie is the daughter of the Evil Queen who joins the other teenagers at Dragon Hall, and who Mal recognizes as the princess whose party she was not invited to 10 years prior. She decides not to be friends with her, but the two girls end up in various classes together. Mal decides to get some revenge on Evie by throwing a party and inviting her as a guest of honor.
However, at the party, Mal and Jay shove her into a closet filled with Cruella DeVil’s furs, where then Carlos frees her and they head to his treehouse, where he shows her an electronic device he has been working on. It makes some noise and emits a beam into the sky, and seems to connect for a few minutes to Auradon and other television channels they have. The channels are referenced to Dog With a Blog, Liv and Maddie, and Mighty Men.
After this, Mal seems to be ‘connected’ to her mother's scepter – Dragon’s Eye, and is sent on a mission to recover it from her mother's’ old palace, The Forbidden Fortress, so she can get her powers, and break the curse of the Isle.
The four teenagers together make their way to the palace, along the way facing challenges and riddles aimed at each individual, but by working together they end up finding the

In the article Island Civilization: A vision for human occupancy of Earth, Roderick Frazier Nash describes how the earth that was once a peaceful planet with freedom of living for every specie turned out to be the earth we are living in now. Had human beings more farsighted they wouldn’t have taken wilderness as something that must be controlled. Nash explains how the mankind built fences and roads to control the wild, and soon there came a time when United States Census claimed there was no longer a frontier left that humans haven’t damaged which created a national angst. As Nash says “The notion of wilderness was passing over a tipping point from liability to asset” (Nash 373) This resulted in acts that emphasized the importance of wilderness. Extinction of many other species was observed so acts were taken for the animal protection and various authors started writing books on the negative environmental impact.…

The book The Island at the Center of the World by Russell Shorto was very interesting and gave me a different view on history. I felt the story that was told was very intriguing but it did get confusing at times. There were parts in the book where he would discuss an important person like Adriaen Van der Donck for example in one chapter then he would jump to a new person in the next chapter and then Van der Donck would be mentioned again two chapters later. This was hard to follow because he would jump from person to person and mention many dates that it was hard to keep up with what he was saying. However, regarding his argument that Manhattan is what started America he does an excellent job at proving this. One example of this is “…in…

Book 9 details the fall of mankind as Eve is tempted by the serpent, and consumes the forbidden fruit condemning mankind. This sole act allows sin to enter the world and is the sole reason why we experience hardship. However, within this book Milton paints a richer picture of what might’ve or likely happened on that fateful day as he describes the experiences of Adam and Eve within the garden. This book is treats men and women very differently as it essentially blames women for the fall from grace. A large portion of this book is devoted to a defining conversation between Adam and Eve in which Eve argues that solitude can be the best form of society. She presses that they should separate briefly and when Adam detests the idea this motivates…
