Globalization helps multinational corporations to advertise and sell their products all over the world thereby benefitting them and their consumers; this is how transactional corporations benefit from globalization. The LEDC governments benefit from globalization by allowing these multinational companies to come to their countries and thereby employing the local population and raising the income of the country. The workers in many countries too benefit from globalization because most multinational companies for example Nike, Zara etc, manufacture their products in third world countries for example Bangladesh, India, Vietnam etc. this benefits the workers who would otherwise be unemployed, plus they learn new skills. Globalization helps multinational banks to invest in foreign company and deal in foreign exchange and that's how economists benefit from it.
While globalization has its advantages, it also has its disadvantages. It basically globalization survival of the fittest therefore if your products cannot compete in the global market you will not survive. Politicians from uncompetitive countries can be against globalization because the countries products cannot compete in the global market even though the multinational products are manufactured In their country, also that some companies have more power than the government of that country. Cultural leaders can be against globalization because many countries lose their originality and culture because of globalization for example western clothing is more popular in Middle Eastern countries than the national dresses. The workers from the LEDC's can be against globalization too because they get only a very small percentage of the profits of the products that are made by them. Workers from the MEDC's are most of the time against globalization for the multinational companies outsource the labor due to the minimum wages laws of the MEDC's. Environmentalists are definitely against globalization because while workers are doing work in factories pollution is being created, so the companies make the money, pollution is created in another country, so the people in that country suffer.
To end this debate I would like to conclude that globalization is here to stay whether we like it or not. The step in the right direction would be to use globalization to the advantage of human kind by making use of advantages of globalization and try to reduce the disadvantages.

If you look at globalization and no matter what opinion you have on it, it has brought the world to how it is known today. In some countries the benefits have been dramatically diverse, it lead to wealth, increased health and higher security. It increased the standard of living in more developed countries. In some however inferior benefits were provided by globalization, this was generally the case in less developed countries. For less advanced countries it does not always have to be inefficient, it can also provide opportunities to increase the countries economic, political and cultural development. Economics has been the driving force for globalization, such as trade agreements between countries or the introduction of free trade and the lowering of transportation and communication costs. Whether a country is for or against globalization one of its main interests is going to be economic growth and development in order to be able to provide a higher standard of living to its population. Without the movement to a more efficient economy a high standard of living cannot be provided. Main economies such as the ones of the United States of America or East Asia and…

Globalization is the act of moving away from distinct national economic units and toward one huge global market. For business, globalization is a means to boost their profitability. It is a financially driven act that can impact their finances in multiple ways. A fresh market has potential to enhance sales and raise profit margins. If entered early enough you get a head of potential competition and make a name for your firm within the market giving you the competitive advantage. Another way for it to help profitability is for your firm to move production outside the home country. While maybe the new market you’re in may not be enormously profitable, their labor cost can be cheaper, meaning expenses can be cut and the price you sell your product for is much more than what you built it for.…

For some people, globalization is so feared it is synonymous with world destruction. In the end, for all we know, maybe this will be proven before it is over. In reality however, there are many good things that have resulted from globalization(1, Premise). Let’s for a moment focus on the economy, even though there are many other advantages that have been brought forward that will also be discussed. Many Americans do not appreciate how efficient our markets are, in this case efficiency in reference to supply and demand is number one. These efficient markets allow economies to grow. As many have learned in a global world, when one economy grows, it spurs growth in all the other economies that are connected to it. In this way, reverberations of success are felt across the world, even when they are most profound in one area. Needless to say, this is a very good thing. This is partially a result of what I just mentioned, but wealth equality around the world goes much deeper than that. Perhaps a better phrase than wealth equality is “standard of living.” Globalization does several things that are undeniable at the end of the day. First and foremost for one it creates jobs, which is a priority to the economic success of any market(2, Premise). Along with job creation it improves infrastructure while it also allows more people to live at a higher global level every day. Mainly regular access to medicine, clean water, food production, housing, etc., things we take for granted here in the United States. Many if not most third world countries do not share these same day to day things we categorize as necessities. Things they would refer to as luxuries. Globalization results in partnerships between countries and organizations, which in turn could help bring these countries along in many of these areas. This also makes relations much more stable between both. Agreements are much more frequently found by partners of vast…

Most of the arguments against globalisation strike at one point: it benefits corporations and not people. However, it is not that way. It is possible for globalization to benefit both corporations and people. There are many points in favour of globalization i.e. it lowers prices. Food is cheaper, clothes are cheaper, cars are cheaper, and phone service is cheaper. Globalization lowers prices and raises income. Most importantly, free trade stops wars. One world, one peace, else can be fixed (Roberts & Hite, 2000). Globalization is good just not for the rich countries but especially for the poor countries. “The booming economies of India and China--the Elephant and the Dragon--have lifted 200 million people out of abject poverty in the 1990s as globalization took off, the International Monetary Fund says. Tens of millions more have catapulted themselves far ahead into the middle class.” (Meredith & Hoppough, 2007).…

Globalization does have positive effects that are felt throughout the world. If we look at the latter part of the 20th century alone, the evidence that globalization reduces poverty is overwhelming. Looking at a variety of measurements poverty, life expectancy, health, education more people have become better off at a faster pace in the past sixty years than ever before. And according to the World Bank, trade enabled the developing countries to grow at a rate of 4.3 percent per year during the 1990s, twice the rate of the developed…

Globalization is a good thing. However, its implications on economies are not entirely rosy. There are people who have been negatively affected by globalization. Globalization has resulted to more jobs, and generated more wealth something that cannot be said of everyone. People in developed nations have been hurt by it. Americans are one such lot. Factories have closed and moved to locations such as China, Vietnam and Mexico. The factories that have remained have lowered their wages to remain competitive. Globalization has had more negative effects on the American economy compared to gains.…

Is economic globalization good for humankind? Murray Weidenbaum (2007) believes globalization is a positive change especially for poor nations and an opportunity for the exchange of ideas between countries. For the basis of his argument, Weidenbaum states the top ten myths about economic globalization and rebukes them. On the opposite side of the argument is Herman E. Daly (2007) who is strongly against economic globalization. With economic integration comes political, social, and cultural integration between countries which will result in a loss of national identity and the potential for national governments to be replaced by multinational governments. To support his argument, Daly gives four negative consequences as the result of economical globalization (Street & Street, 2007).…

The word Globalization refers to “the growing integration of economies and societies around the world” (World Bank 2010). There has been an increasing amount of connection between various economies and one of the greatest challenges we face is to make this connection a positive one. Globalization certainly has the greatest influence on developing nations around the world. Countries such as India, China and Russia have been positively affected by globalization since they are able to trade goods in which they have a comparative advantage. For some other nations, globalization has not had such a positive influence. In certain parts of the world, it has led to a worsening of the economy, exploitation of labour, decrease in local production and worst of all, an increase in inequality.…
