No doubt, bad roads are the main cause of traffic accidents, almost all the big roads of our cities were built when the traffic was very light. But after the creation the population of these cities increased with a great speed. As our roads are very narrow for traffic which is almost double their capacity, accidents have become very common. Thus, the miserable condition of roads is the main cause of road accidents. The first thing that contributes to the reason for the road accidents that happen in Malaysia is the drivers’ behaviour. Humans are always do mistake and not careful. When a problem or unwanted thing happens, they tend to blame somebody or something else for what they have done. Most people that get an accident believe the other party involved could have done something different to avoid the accident. According to The Royal Malaysian Police, PDRM (2006) report saying that 90% of accidents happen from this reason. Moreover they also mentioned that speeding also has caused quite a number of accidents. Actually, until recently many drivers, especially male driver took the chance of night time in driving in federation and state roads. PDRM, (2006) reported the faster speed of a vehicle, the greater the risk of an accident. Speeding, even if the vehicle going five miles per hour over, in the wrong place at the wrong time, it can bring death to somebody. Speeding is also based on the traffic on an area, road conditions, weather and lighting. When driver speeding, they had to risk their lives…

Careless and irresponsible driving includes a diverse arrangement of bad actions by drivers. One of those being drunk driving. Drunk drivers are very prone to automobile accidents because alcohol impairs a person’s sight, judgment, and ability to react fast enough to save themselves from an accident. Another careless action would have to be forgetting to check mirrors and/or blind spots when attempting to change lanes. Tailgating and aggressive driving would fall under the irresponsible category. When following too close to another driver a person has less time to react to a situation that may cause the driver they are following to stop abruptly.…

Traffic accident kills thousands of people every year. The causes of traffic accident are divided into three main reasons. First of all, drunk driving is the most noticeable cause which occurs almost every day in Cambodia society. There is a quote about drunk driving ‘Drunk, no driving and Drive, no drinking’, yet many people will not do like that. That’s why there are many accidents happen in Cambodia. For example, drinking makes people become unconscious, so they will lose their mind to control their vehicles. Second, over-speeding is also a cause of accident. Some teenagers like to drive their motors too fast. They may think that driving motors too fast can make them look cooler, actually not at all. Besides getting blamed from the older people, they also take risk of losing their life or having an accident. For instance, when they accidently meet some conditions such as slippery road, bumpy road or broken brake, they may not be able to control their vehicles. This is also a factor that can cause accident. Finally, disobeying the traffic light or traffic signs can also cause the traffic accident. Traffic light and traffic signs have very important role to show people to avoid accident. However, many people still do not obey them. Specifically, people tend to go faster when the traffic light is yellow, while some of them go straight when the light is red. These are the real examples which I have seen so far. In brief, people should be more careful when they are driving their vehicles. They should respect each other when they are all using the same street. I believe that if people respect to each other and obey the traffic law, the rate of traffic accident will decrease noticeably. To decrease the rate of traffic accident is not only for citizens to do, but the governments also have a significant role to take part in this…
