How it all started… The Fruit and Veggie
People started, like many great things, as a tiny spark in the heads of a great bunch of people. © Creating Careers Ltd, 2014. All rights reserved.

Ethically sourced, organic fruit and vegetables, delivered straight to your door.
Sounds good right?

Well we think it does, but just in case you aren’t head over heels with us already, we’re going to let you in on the fruity world of Alan
& Jenny Blueberry – our cofounders. From humble beginnings…
The Fruit and Veggie People began on a small farm in Surrey, where
Jenny and Alan Blueberry had an epic idea: fresh, ethically grown fruit and veg, delivered straight to your door. But unlike Caesar and the Roman
Empire, The Fruit and Veggie People believe in:
• Treating people right
• Keeping quality high
• Always giving customers what they want, whether that’s mangos from Malaysia or strawberries from
Sheffield.

A small team with big ideas, the
Blueberry’s believe in treating the people who grow fruit and vegetables well, and don’t want to take advantage of the people the food industry should be supporting.

Several years later, Jenny and Alan preside over a fruit and veg empire, the Caesars’ of fresh produce.

“The food industry should be about helping people, as well as produce, to grow

Who are we? Unlike some scary business types, Jenny and Alan Blueberry believe that it’s important to be involved in the day to day running of their fruit and veggie HQ. So where did this dynamic duo come from?
Let’s peel back the layers…

Alan grew up in the countryside. His parents

loved growing fruit and veg and his pride and joy were his tomato plants. He cared for them throughout his University studies, where he met his future wife and business partner, Jenny.

Jenny grew up in North London, and spent her childhood dreaming about owning a farm. After their passion for fresh produce brought them together, Alan and Jenny hatched a plan

The first piece of ancient art I have chosen is the pectoral amulet depicting the ancient god Anubis. This is the ancient Egyptian god of embalming this piece features two jackals facing each other. Behind each jackal there are hieroglyphics that quote “Anubis who is embalmer," and "Anubis who is before the god’s place of embalming." This art is two-dimensional because it is on a flat surface although it is something that you are able to hold the actual piece the artwork is engraved on it. The material that was used to create this was faience, which is a form a tin and was then glazed. After created the piece was placed on the chest of the mummified individual for as a symbol of safe passage into the next life. The colors used from what is depicted in the piece is turquoise which is the color that is the color of the material and black which is used in the drawing of the jackals and hieroglyphics. The use of lines and shapes in this artwork are your basic line straight-line patterns and the shapes used are geometric shapes. Geometric shapes consist of squares, triangles and circles and this this piece all of those shapes have been used.…

Michael Pollen is an authoritative figure in the realm of food that, indeed, has portrayed some very interesting and beneficial perspectives. However, he also has a tendency to use his position of power to infiltrate societal views when it comes to agriculture and eating. In “Visible Farmers/Invisible Workers” by Sarah D. Wald, Pollen is dissected critically for his lack of attention paid to the workers that allow the United States to produce megatons of food each year.…

In my case, I would state that I dont need any more chiefs on this project when I need Indians for the tribe. Meaning I have enough eyes on me, but I could use some help in on the actual project itself. I would think if they trusted Jim with a project like this they would have given him the reigns and stop hovering over his shoulder. In a since, with the appointment of Bob Petroski and sally Fukuyama on the team they have all but taken away the full credit of the project of Jim. They have forced Jim into a lose-lose situation. The success of the project would be taken by the cronies of the department head and the Chief operating officer and the failure would fall solely into Jims lap. Maintenance Challenges in CRM System The maintenance challenges for the CRM or customer relations management system is large and complex, but pricing in this proposal is based only on modules used for the customer loyalty application. 1. I want to start with a picture of a doughnut. The reason why is because when we see it you begin to salivate because you might want to eat a doughnut. But it also has a hole in it, and if you were to stick your finger through the hole in a doughnut, that a lot like food moving through the hole that is your digestive system. In other words its going to move all the way from your mouth out your anus. But its not realy inside of you. When you stick your finger through the hole of a doughnut it not technically insdie the doughnut. Just like the food that goes through your digestive system is not technically inside your body, its just moving through a hole in your body. We can eventually absorb that material inside our body, but not until it gets very small.…

Most off our food is handled and processed by somebody else. The truth is Americans don’t have the time to farm and nor do the dirty bits. In America, whoever does the best in the fourth quarter controls how things will run, with the ever growing hunger for wealth there is no limit to what can be achieved. An American Filmmaker, Robert Kenner, released a documentary Food Inc, a perfect example of greed and disregard for what can be considered ethical in the food industry. Kenner was inspired to make this film after reading Fast Food Nation to show how portray the whole supermarket has become industrialized almost resembling the fast-food industries. The documentary Food Inc. is about slaughter houses, food manufacturing, and other food related subsets. The film relies heavily on visuals and also the commentary used statistics and facts creating attitude.…

The food industry is dramatically decreasing the diversity of our food, there are hundreds of types of apples, corn and rice and thousands of other plants, but people only see a very limited variety because for the industries, it is easier and more profitable to produce quantity and monocultures over quality and diversity. Berry states one of his main points as, “Eaters, that is, must understand that eating takes place inescapably in the world, that it is inescapably an agricultural act, and that how we eat determines, to a considerable extent, how the world is used” (231). He then goes on to explain a few ways that city folk can, as consumers, ‘eat responsibly’, to eat responsibly one must: participate in food production, prepare their own food, learn where their food is grown, try to buy from local farmers, learn about the food industry and learn about food history. Berry wants the reader to realise that no matter how they are eating, they are shaping the world around them; therefore, if they decide to eat more mindfully and less ignorant, the food industry would be forced treat the food more mindfully because they would realise that the people actually cared and were paying attention to what they were eating. People need to understand that eating connects us to the world, it connects us to the animals, the plants, and the soil that surround us. How people eat has consequences, it shapes the food industry along with the world around them. Berry ends with a few lines of a poem by William Carlos Williams that exemplify Berry’s ideas that everything we eat is the earth and everything we eat is divine and should be treated as such. He wishes us to take everything in as it is and to be enriched and have gratitude about…

There are many questions regarding how food is grown and raised in the United States. Over the past few years there has been a rising concern and major changes to our Food and Agriculture system. Technological advances, Pesticides, Antibiotics, Genetically Modified Organisms, (GMOs) and large factory farms that are spreading worldwide with rapid fire. The American’s right to access fresh, healthy food is under attack. If you want to keep eating the poisoned foods in your supermarkets today, then you can join the “scientists” who push so hard to inform us that genetically altered foods are safe for us. The repercussions, however, will be felt for a long time to come, and in many cases the consequences may be irreversible. USDA is sabotaging small owned farmers forcing them to accept the concept of mass production, and taking a purely un-ethical approach to limit the opportunity for Americans to buy fresh, local, raw-organic foods.…
