My main reason for attending college is to reach my goal of being in a game industry career. I wanted to find a job that I would enjoy being employed in and earning income. Which is why I am currently in college and attending classes? I know I did not want that, and that is why I wanted to go to college, even more than is the main reason why I wanted to go to college. Another reason was I wanted to get a better education other than just a High school Diploma. Not many places would take many serious if they just had a High school Diploma. My final reason for wanting to go to college was that I wanted that college experience. I was fortune enough to get into college, so why not take advantage of it, and get the real college experience, since I did not really have that, High school Experience, this was my chance, to make up for it.

My main reason for wanting to go to college is that I wanted to have a better life. I didn’t want to live my life, paycheck to paycheck, and worrying about weather or not, I am going to have enough money to pay to keep a roof over my head. My parents never went to college, and while they both have decent jobs, and make Okay money, its still would be easier for them, if they had gone to college, but they did not have the opportunity that I did. Not everyone can go to college to better themselves, but I was a lucky one, and I am blessed that I am getting a chance to make a better person out of myself, by going to college. College is important to me. I am the 1st one in my immediate family to go to college so it’s a big deal to everyone. I just do not want to let them down.

Another reason why I decided to go to college was because in my recent experience in trying to find a job I realized that you employer takes you more seriously if you have more than just a high school diploma. I don’t want to be working at some fast food joint my life, and hardly having enough money to support not only myself, but also my family. Being in college, and getting a degree in whatever my heart desires, will open up so many doors for me. It would help me get a job that I not only like, but one that I look forward to going to everyday, and one that will make me feel like I am actually accomplishing something with my life.

My last reason, but not my least important reason is, that I decided to go to college, because when I was in high school, I moved in the middle of my junior, away from people that I had gone to school with most of my life, and had grown up with, so when we cane to Florida it was all new for me, and it made me very anti-social. I did not do the whole, high school experience at all. So a big reason why I wanted to go to college was so I can experience that. It was a huge dream of mine, to have friends, to be social, to really be a teenager, or a young adult. I am hoping by being in College, I will be able to experience that.

So overall, college is going to be a great thing for me, not just because it says “Oh look at me, I went to college” but because I am doing something to make myself become a better person. So far, I love college, it has been a great thing for me, and I know in the end, it will really pay off, and turn me into someone that I want to be.

My first reason is that I wanted to see if college. I say this because college is not for everybody. I have seen an overwhelming amount of people go to college and drop out. For an example, in my family, on my mother’s side, my aunties and uncles decided not to go to college. On the other hand, my family, on my father’s side, went to college and did not get a job based on what they majored in or went to college, but dropped out. So, me being, I wanted to know why did they go to college and drop out. Then, I started comparing their lifestyles together. In result, I started talking to people that went to college to see how it is. This brings me to my second reason.…

Times have changed however, and a college education is necessary for almost every job not in the fast food department. Andrew Delbanco, Author of “Three Reasons College Still Matters” an article in his book, College: What it Was, Is, and Should Be, points out three main reasons why every American should attend college at some point in their life. Why go to college? Why would someone spend thousands of dollars to sit in yet another classroom? My uncle says “people that get a degree make over a million dollars more in a lifetime.” My dad counters that with “the world needs ditch diggers too.” I came to college to start my life, to become an independent man who finds his niche among society. I suppose some people can do that outside of school but I find college to be an optimum transition to the adult life as it teaches practical skills, instills a greater appreciation of the world, and makes one discontent with inequities in the community.…

Going to college has always been a goal to myself. Personally, it means more than expecting to get a good job with a high earning potential. It means the opportunity to develop myself as a person and become a valued member of society. It means, that as the oldest brother and first generation in my family with the possibility to attend college, setting an example for my younger siblings about how to shape your own path and break that mindset of “do what you have to do” and replacing it with one which says, “do something that makes you happy.”…

The pursuit of a higher education has never been high on my priority list. Armed with barely an eighth grade education and tremendous ambition, I was able to achieve professional success in the absence of a college education. My heroes have always been men who have achieved great success with out an education; Henry Ford, Larry Ellison, Bill Gates, and Richard Branson. With the recent downturn in the economy and I found my self seeking employment I realized that not only was I was missing many opportunities due to my lack of a degree, but if I had a degree it is highly possible that I might have been retained from a previous employer as opposed to being laid off. Obtaining a college degree will allow me to be more competitive in the market place, provide me with a great sense of achievement and personal fulfillment, gain more knowledge, and challenge me intellectually.…

To say that I dedicated numerous amounts of hours deciphering the purpose of why I’m going to college would be a lie. For years I have always thought that college is somewhere you just go after high school. I believed that it is only somewhere you go to start your career and in turn make a lot of money. In fact, this “purpose” is what has been institutionalized within U.S. citizens under this Capitalist system. We are told to go to college so we can get jobs where we can make money, buy a big house, start a family, and live the lifestyles we have always dreamed of. For a very long time this was my only goal in life: to go to college so I can get a well-paying job to afford the lifestyle that I want to live. I never put much thought into what…

The first reason I pursued college is because I want a career. Most of the adults in my life did not attend college, and ended up working deadend, low paying jobs. Day in and day out they perform the same menial, monotonous tasks. I would often recieve words of advice from these people, all of which followed the same general pattern: "Don't get a job, get a career".…

I am the 4th one in my immediate family to go to college so my other three older sisters went to college; I had someone to follow luckily. While I watched my sisters go to college I got a sense that I should go to college. Plus, at a young age I was not pushed but in a sense yes I was pushed into college, I would say more influenced. One of the reasons I was “pushed”/influenced into college is because my dad wanted all his kids to have a better life than him did. You have to see that my…

A college degree is needed in modern time. In article “ Graduates’ Pay Is Slipping but Still Outpaces others,” by Tyler Cowen, he says “ Thirty years ago, college graduates made 40 percent more than high school graduates, but now the gap is about 83 percent.” This quote shows that college students became more successful than people who did not go to college. I feel as though even if you go to college for better education and higher position, this quote is a little bit of an under statement. My father was a high school graduate who didn't not further his education by going to college. I asked Mr. Burgess what was his reasoning for not going to college and was he successful life after high school. He said “ i didn't go to college. I wanted to go straight work. And my life after high school, I became very successful. Then I proceeded to ask him why he did he not feel like he was ready for college, and if he could go back to finishing high school would he have went to college or did anything differently. He also spoke and said “ I never had the intentions of going to college. Yea I would have went if i had to go back in time. And the last thing I asked him is if he regret not going. And his finally response was “ No, i don't not regret my decision because I became a very intelligent successful supervising manager technician. And also people that had a college degree has to follow my directions because i am their boss.” One can clearly see that people who didn't even go to college has came across the same success as people for went to college. Sometimes it shows that a high school graduate can even be more successful than the person with “more experience”. But just because you're just a high school graduates doesn't mean you might be as lucky as the person who never went to college. In order for a fireman to become a fire…
