Into The Dark Water Analysis
The article “Into the Dark Water” by Lauren Tarshis, is about a boy named Jack Thayer, who was a passenger and a survivor of the Titanic. The author used these quotes because she wanted the reader to feel like they were with Jack and they could feel Jack’s emotions.
One of the quotes shows how Jack felt because it was a beautiful night and he was enjoying it. “ It was the kind of night, that made one glad to feel alive.” This shows that everything was fine and calm before the Titanic got hit.
Another quote showed that the Titanic was acting weird. “as though she had been gently pushed,” This let’s the reader know that how Jack felt when the Titanic veered to the left.
We see this quote knowing that Jack felt like he was safe. “Nobody yet
