Internet: The Two-Edged Sword

We live in modern information society. We cannot discuss about information society without computer Internet. Computer Internet changed our life in a lot of ways. People can get a lot of information on the Internet. They also can check real time news on the Internet. E-mail makes people communicate faster. They don’t have to wait for mails in couple of days. People have free discussion or argument on the internet. Like this, there are so many benefits with the Internet. However, Computer internet is not always nice. It has some kinds of defects. The most dangerous thing is anonymity of Internet. On the Internet, most of people use their nickname for their identity. They don’t use their real name on the Internet. It makes some problems. People don’t know who they are each other. Therefore, they just speak straightforward, and they don’t think about other people’s feeling. Sometimes these bad saying or article makes people kill themselves. For example, in Korea, some movie stars like Lee eun-joo, Choi jin-sil killed themselves because of other people’s bad articles or bad replies about their behavior or writing. In addition, a lot of pornographic things and information are very big problem. Especially, it is certainly big problem for children who don’t ready for accept those things. These days, it is so easy to find bad pornographic things on the Internet. These porno things can implant distorted sexual awareness to young children. I know that the Internet makes people discuss each other freely. People can discuss and share their opinion, and it makes a lot of brand-new information. That will be helpful for our life. Also, there is a lot of information on the Internet. We can find the information what we want on the Internet by searching in web search engines. However, we have to focus on the bad side of the Internet. Anonymity makes people kill themselves because it makes people have no responsibility about their writing on the Internet.
