The assumptions of nature is that you are born with the the genes to which an illness is formed from. Genes are what we inherit from our parents, and what they inherit from their parents, For many years psychologist look at mental health disorders such as depression and debate on whether this illness was a result of inherited genes (Genetics) or as a result from life experiences which start from when were born (Biological) this debate is also know as Nature verses Nurture with in Psychology..As many as 15% of those who suffer from some form of depression take their lives each year depression is seen as being continually down/sad/hopelessness, and other symptoms interferes with daily life, can make life every day hard can lead to suicidal thoughts and this will be my topic. The main assumption for nurture is that most mental illnesses that people suffer from are the cause and result of the environment,individual experiences can lead to the failure of the social understanding. There are many contributing factors for depression. Nature - Genetics, Biochemical imbalances, Hormones. Nurture - Upbringing, Diet, Recreational Drugs. However, they can all be an influence and there is not one definite cause for depression.
