A person of integrity possesses honest qualities and has strong moral principles. To have integrity means that you do the right thing and make the right choices. A person of integrity is genuine and doesn’t need to succumb to pressure from peers or make bad choices. Having good judgments and leadership is key when exuding integrity because you will have the ability to tell right from wrong and set your own path in life in order to become successful. A person of integrity can set goals and take the right steps to making their dream a success. Integrity allows you to get far in life purely by noble decisions. Perseverance is important because in order to achieve success, you must maintain a steady persistence despite difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement. A persevered person keeps trying until their goal is attained. Often in life, someone could bring you down or make you feel like your less than everybody else, even a loved one. However, you should not let that affect you because it’s your life to live and nobody can determine your destiny but you. For example, Wilma Rudolph was a famous African American track and field athlete who contracted polio at the age of four. This disease caused Wilma to lose the use of her left leg. Through the efforts of her devoted family and her own determination to strengthen herself, she rose from disability to Olympic glory. I currently embody integrity by upholding a positive mindset on life. I set goals and remind myself that when one goal is achieved, I am one step closer to my dreams. I was raised in a way that taught me to be smart, independent, and honest. I can proudly say that I have never given in to pressure from my peers because I am smart enough to know if something will make me or break me. I plan to stay this way in the future because I am already on the right track and I will continue to walk down this path for the rest of my life. I am positive that I can go nowhere but up from here.
