Installing 70/30 Copper-Nickel Pipe
Installing 70/30 copper nickel (cuni) pipe sometimes can be a test of human patients, mechanical knowledge, and dexterity. It is, however, well worth the effort, because once you complete the job whether you’re a novice or connoisseur of the art you gain a sense of pride for a job well done. Additionally, you will have confidence in knowing that your pipe will stand the test of time and vigorous challenges they’re used for. The only problem that comes with working with 70/30 cuni pipe is, having a concrete way to approach even the minutest step(s) when installing, cleaning, and inspecting your pipe.

Initially, you should have gathered your tools that will you need for this job. Assuming that you have the proper tools for the job we will begin by taking the copper nickel pipe a prepping it for installation. To prep copper-nickel pipe you want to start by gathering your pipe and you’re fittings, so you can obtain the measurements for the length off your pipe, square it off, and then touch it up. By doing this it eliminates dirt and debris, and allows for cohesiveness between the mechanical joints when you’re mating them together. Too do this you’re going to measure out the proper length of your pipe by taking your ruler (which should be measured in inches) and mark on your pipe how much you’re going to need. Once you have done that you’re going to cut the pipe at its designated mark. At the same time, be careful not to cut too much off, because if you do then you will have to either buy more pipe or go through another process of adding the pipe back. You can cut copper pipe with a regular hacksaw or a copper tube cutter. Although both will make a satisfactory cut, the tube cutter ensures a square cut every time. Use a jig or miter box when you're cutting copper pipe with a hacksaw. This helps to ensure a square cut in the pipe. After making the cut, remove the burrs inside the pipe with a half-round file. A pipe cutter usually leaves more burrs in the pipe than a

For the COAXIAL CABLE I would do the same first few steps by getting the correct length of cable that I would need. Then you would use the cable stripper and stripe off just over a half inch of the outer jacket. I would then insert the center conductor into the center pin. I would crimp the pin twice with a ratcheting crimper. I would then put the connector onto the end of the cable. The barrels of the connector should slide under the shielding. Push the center pin until it clicks into the connector. Slide the ferrule along the sleeve down the cable so that it pushes the braided shielding around the barrel of the connector. I would then crimp the ferule barrel twice, once at the connector side and again at the jacket side. I would then remove it from the crimping tool and examine it. I would check to see that the connector is securely attached to the end of the cable. If I did it properly I shouldn’t be able to move. With…

    5. Hold the micropipettor vertically and place the tip in the liquid to be pipetted. Do not immerse the tip completely. The tip should be inserted into the liquid so that only the bottom of the tip is immersed. You do not want to immerse the pipettor itself into the liquid for several reasons: 1) you do not want to get liquid into the mechanics of the pipettor, as it may damage the pipettor. 2) There could be contaminating substances on the pipettor that could be transferred into the solution you are pipetting, which could ruin your experiment.…

Welding with a rod is called SMAW (Stick Metal Arc Welding), you will absolutely need to know the type of welding if you are planning to be a pipeliner. SMAW is one of the hardest types of welding to master, and it is the most effective. Most welders start off by learning how to weld with a rod. There are also two more types of welding along with brazing and oxyacetylene cutting. GTAW better known as tig or tungsten arc welding is absolutely the hardest type of welding to learn mostly because you need very steady hands and good hand-eye coordination. GTAW is used to weld very thin metals such as aluminum, copper, etc. GMAW is the easiest type of welding and can be used for mostly anything. Some beginners use this if they cant get SMAW down, this is just an easier route. GMAW isn’t the strongest weld to put on something you want to hold a lot of pressure or something you want to last for a very long…

17C-1 The Lease Pumper’s Handbook Chapter 17 Well Servicing and Workover Section C THE TUBING STRING C-1. Tubing and Casing Perforation. The relationship of casing perforations to tubing perforations is important to the performance of the well, whether it is a flowing well or produced by artificial lift. The lease operator must know if the tubing perforations are above or below the casing perforations or at the same level (Figure 1). This can be critical as to how much oil the well produces and the problems encountered. For wells that produce a lot of scale, production personnel operate under different philosophies. One school of thought is that the higher the tubing perforations can be raised above the casing perforations and still achieve a satisfactory daily production, the less the scale will break out of the water in the tubing and flow line. Some companies raise the tubing perforations a few feet above the casing perforations, while other companies move them much higher. Some operators maintain that if tubing perforations are placed even with or lower than the casing perforations, the reduction in reservoir pressure will increase daily production, resulting in increased income to solve the additional production problems. Other companies place the tubing perforations below the casing perforations even if it results in a tubing arrangement where the tubing has no mud anchor. A shop-made two-foot perforated joint is used. The joint is closed on bottom and has dozens of ½-inch holes drilled into it. A collar is used to screw it directly under the seating nipple. This reduces the length of the pump gas anchor to one foot or less. Companies favoring this method maintain that it gives the highest daily average production. The most typical tubing arrangement is to place the tubing perforations a few feet above the casing perforations. This maintains a small amount of liquid against the formation, instead of having a drained or dry matrix area at the bottom of the…

For smaller size pipes upto diameter 200 mm, HDPE pipes are recommended. HDPE pipes are flexible and can bend to some extent, thus reduces use of specials like bends, elbows etc. This speeds up the construction activity. In addition, it also minimizes leakages as there are less no of joints.which are welded and are least prone to leakages. HDPE pipes have excellent track record of making good house service connections. Hence can reduce the UFW to the maximum extent. They are tough and can handle heavy traffic loads to some extent which also reduce the vulnerability of pipe breakage due to heavy traffic…
