Insperational People
Inspirational people/ good role model

For the next 3 or so minutes I am going to be giving a speech about inspirational people. I suppose everyone is an inspirational person in their own way but these people are a few who I think stand out,

The first person I am going to talk about is a woman called Martine Wiltshire, I don’t think many people know who she is but more should. She was sadly travelling on the London underground on the 7th of September 2005 when four bombs where set off on the tubes, she was sitting just metres away from one of the terrorists and when the bombs went off she lost both her legs. After waking up from 10 days in a coma she vowed to grab every opportunity she got with both hands, one of these opportunities was being a Paralympics volleyball player in the 2012 games. She made a really bad scenario positive, and I think many of us can learn from her.

The second person I am going to talk about is Tom Daley, its not just the good looks that makes him a great role model but also that he has an amazing attitude towards sport, he is always positive and instead on dwelling on his mistakes he learns and improves from them. He treats others how he would want to be treated. He also put on an extremely brave face when last year his dad, his number 1 fan passed away. He only missed one training session at the time, as he knew it would have been what his dad wanted. When he was at the Olympics he tried his hardest to go to as many GB events as he could to support the team. He has balanced his diving time and his school work very well as he got an A, A* and B in his a level results and Olympic bronze medal which he celebrated like a gold.

The last person I am going to talk about is a truly phenomenal man and made the impossible possible,
“That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.” I am sure you all recognise that quote from Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon. I think he is a truly inspirational

Not only was the mission a landmark in science and technology, but American pride. Neil Armstrong’s famous quote, “one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind” has since been engraved into the American vernacular as a symbol of American ingenuity and achievement. The American flag placed on the moon was the nail in the coffin of the Soviet’s effort to make it there first. The moon had been claimed not only by the United States, but also by democracy itself.…

Malala Yousafzai, an activist of education rights, survived a gunshot to the head at the young age of 14. She helped her dad build a school in Pakistan where everyone could go to school, no matter what, she made lots of speeches and kept fighting for education rights. A group centralized in Pakistan, called the Taliban, shot her in the head while she was on her way home from school because they didn’t want education rights for all; considering they feel females are lesser than men. Malala was immediately rushed to a hospital, and thankfully, survived. If she wouldn’t have survived, she wouldn’t be as great a world leader, and no one would work hard to gain education rights. Her story greatly illustrates all of the traits people need to survive…

One story that really hit home with me was Charlie. Being born with no legs and arms, Charlie showed great adaptation and intelligence and had such a go-getter attitude. He attends school with the help of a special wheelchair, and aside from his obvious disability, was very well accepted by everyone who got to know him. Charlie inspired me tremendously. His Mom and Dad are also very admirable in how they chose to let Charlie live a great…

Linford Christie – Is also a great role model but in a different way. He is more of a role model to his athletes because of his own sporting achievements. He is the only British man to win a gold medal in the 100 m at all four major competitions: the Olympic Games and the World, Commonwealth, and European championships and he still holds the British 100m record. This would be impressive to any aspiring athlete and they would be more likely to respect what he says and more likely…

The best type of role model is one that teaches a good life lesson. What’s part of a good life lesson? A good life lesson stays with you whole life. A good lesson affects their life in a way that changes in a good way. You also gain new characteristic from life lessons; an example is courage, bravery or confidences. “While many American children believe athletes motivate them to follow their dreams, they’re also mimicking the bad behavior of their sports heroes on the playing field, a new…

The four people I have selected have played an important role in American history and the history of the world. They have made many contributions to better people’s lives around the world. My first and foremost choice is President Barrack Obama, he had changed society in many ways. Becoming the first African American president was the biggest achievement of his life. He gave African Americans hope and a better look into the future. As an African American I feel like there a chance now that anyone. He has been elected for two terms as well as nominated for the Nobel peace prize twice. He has passed very important laws and currently working on the gun violence law. I think President Obama is doing a great job with Americas budget and getting things to normal. I think he is a great figure that should always be remembered by having him carved into Mount Rushmore. My second choice is Maya Angelou she is like a grandmother to my generation. She has made wonderful contributions to society, and not just in poetry. She has given African American women something to look up to. She is not only known as being a poet but also for her struggle and triumph of what she’s been through. She still is contributing to our society with her poetry that’s being read in schools all around the country. My third choice is Operah Winfery, she has contributed so much in today’s society. She has given money to low class, has reunited families, has helped schools college students, she’s helped out marriages and women lives all together. She is a prominent figure of the 21st century that will…

“That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” These are the exact words spoken by astronaut Neil Armstrong when he and his crew landed “The Eagle” on the moon’s surface. This “giant leap” led to many great expeditions that furthered the exploration of space. Because Armstrong, Aldrin, and Collins were very brave traveling up to space, a whole new perspective of the world opened up for the people of America.…

One of my favorite activities that we did in class was the orange activity. It was really interesting because everyone brings an orange and what we did was mixed it all up. Then we had to write down details of our orange and then find it. It showed that there could be hundreds of oranges, which most may have similar shape, size, and color, but somehow they are all different. This activity proved that some people may have the same features, but everyone is different. Inside and out people have their own story and life experience. Another example of what changed my attitude would be the presentation by Jesse Billauer. His story was very inspiring because although he is not able to surf on his legs he still goes into the water. That is inspiring because he did not let his accident stop him from going in the water and doing what he loves. His presentation made me appreciate life and I am thankful for everything I have. Also, I want to experience more in life and be able to look back and be able to say “ooh I did that”. Another presenter named Jeremy, who spoke in our class was a great presenter. With Jeremy he is partly blind. He cannot see the center of where ever he is looking at. There was one main thing that Jeremy said during his presentation that really caught my attention, which was when he explained that if he was offered to get his vision back he would not. He explained that he would not want to have full vision because he would not appreciate life as much as he does now. I can tell that Jeremy is a humble individual and he loves presenting. He really is making a…
