Good morning all my classmate and my lecturer. Today my topic is how to break bad habits.
Here are some additional ideas for breaking your bad habits and thinking about the process in a new way.
First is Create a Plan. Studies show that having a conscious plan helps you get started with overcoming bad habits. You can't just say "I'm going to stop wasting time surfing the Internet" and expect to succeed. You have to come up with a concrete plan to make this happen. A good way to do this is to incorporate habit-breaking into your personal goals . This helps you ensure that you review your progress on a regular basis, and work on your most damaging habits first. Once you've come up with a plan, add prompts and milestones into your To-Do List or Action Program as a reminder of what you want to achieve. Second is Develop Self-Discipline and Self-Awareness. Studies have also found that constant self-vigilance is necessary to break a bad habit. This means watching yourself for slip-ups, and reminding yourself why you want to break the habit in the first place. To do this, work on your self-discipline and willpower, so that you can develop the persistence and motivation you need in order to stop the behavior. Also build self-awareness to stay aware of how you are thinking and feeling.
According your thoughts to choose which way is suit for you. Because not every way is effective to everyone. Thanks all classmate listen my informative speech.

Habit number 1 is Be Proactive, in the book it states that Be Proactive means; “I am the force”, and “Take responsibility for your life.” One of the biggest things I came away with from this habit is being responsible for your own behavior; past, present and future. This habit is significant for my personal like so I make choices based on values and principles and not by peer pressure. Be Proactive is a helpful habit, so you choose not to be a victim or blame others for your mistakes. Next is another one of my favorite habits, Put First Things First.…

You must be clear on what the issue is, along with the facts associated with those concerns. In addition, you must also be clear about who you are as an individual and where you want to go in life. Like most bad habits, the first step to conquering unwanted rituals is to recognize that you have a problem. So if you're constantly making excuses for your trials and tribulations, you need to realize that this is a problem that must be stopped.…

According to John Dewey, Habits are inevitable. We are empowered by both good and bad habits. In his essay, “Habits and Will”, Dewey states that we envision bad habits as such acts of “foolish idling, gambling, addiction to liquor and drugs”, and we associate good habits with skills such as walking, playing a musical instrument, and typing. We see bad habits as desires and good habits as abilities that “exist far from our impulsive desires”. Bad habits are not deliberately formed and are also hard to break. Dewey explains that will power alone is not enough; one must follow a specific method to turn habits around. I feel that I, someone who tends to get distracted easily and procrastinate, should benefit from Dewey’s habit-breaking method.…

Yes, practice forming willpower as a habit. Each time an individual can say no to something they know is not good for them the habit becomes routine and much easier each time to control. Another would be taking the temptation out of play. By making a conscious effort to stay away from the temptation allows one’s willpower to increase; therefore you do not get exhausted and eventually give in to the temptation. Finally know your limitations. Individuals should not put themselves in any type of situation that sets them up for failure. Knowing oneself is truly the old cliché of winning half the battle.…

To move past precontemplation, you must sense that the unhealthy behavior is at odds with important personal goals. Contemplation: In this stage, you are aware that the behavior is a problem and are considering doing something about it, but you still aren't committed to taking any action. Health educators use several techniques to help people unstick themselves and move on to the next stage. One is to make a list of the pros and cons of making a change, then examine the barriers the "cons" and think about ways to overcome them. Preparation: At this stage, you know you must change, believe you can, and are making plans to change soon; say, next month. If you're preparing to cut down on alcohol, for example, be aware of situations that provoke unhealthy drinking, and plan ways around them. At the same time, create a realistic action plan with achievable goals. Action: At this stage, you've changed and you've begun to experience the challenges of life without the old behavior. You'll need to practice the alternatives you identified during the preparation…

Six months ago, corporate daycare facilities were cleaning out my bank account. I was losing the ability to pay for gas, rent and my utilities because all my money was going towards my son’s weekly daycare tuition. My parents could help me scrap on by here and there but that wasn’t there responsibly. It was then that my mother suggested that I should look into putting my son into a local licensed in home daycare facility opposed to a major corporate daycare facility. I was a little skeptical at first, but I was willing to look into a facility that could possibly save me a lot of money. I’m not an expert on daycare facilities but with my experience of working for a franchised facility and being a single mother and college student on a budget, it has given me the knowledge to advise others. For the purpose of my speech, I want to inform my audience on the different types of daycare facilities, the tuition and what to look for in choosing a facility.…

Like many others, I have a really difficult time holding a conversation with someone when it involves a topic I have absolutely no interest in. I believe the same can be said on an attempt to be informative on a topic in which one cares little about. During my research on our given assignment, I found no topic near or around the date of my birth that had any pertinence or provided any interest to me. I came to the conclusion that I would speak to you all today about something that use to be a passion of mine. Today I would like to speak to you about my time spent in law enforcement.…

Step 1: Select the behavior. For the target behavior, try to select a habit you really do want to change, but also be realistic about what is feasible in a short time frame. Ideally, the behavior would be something that you do (or could do) several times a day. You need a behavior that occurs (or could occur) frequently so you can record it multiple times over the week.…
