Topic: Transferring schools
General Purpose: To entertain
Specific Purpose: At the end of my speech my audience will know how I over came being the new student, and how I’m doing in school now. Central Idea: Knowing change happens whether you want it to or now. “Change is difficult”. Introduction: Last day of middle school I’m finally going to start high school, and it’s going to be the best year ever! Chloe and I (AKA: my best friend) are already making our big summer plans. After school Chloe and I skip out of school singing “were guna be freshman, were guna be freshman!” Then mom ruins the moment with two words I didn’t want to hear “You’re transferring.” The obvious questions arise where, when, and why. My mother says she will explain when we get home. All I can think about the whole ride home is my freshman year is ruined, and there is nothing I can do about it. Body:

Transferring from a private school to a public school is something you would think every kid would want because of no uniforms, you don’t have to go to mass every other Wednesday, and you would think it’s easier. Public school is a lot cheaper than a private school you don’t have to pay for certain uniforms, and the tuition isn’t sky rocketing to the moon.
