Specific Purpose: To inform the audience about the riot against the sikhs in the year 1984 at capital of India, New Delhi.
Introduction
I. Sikhism is one of the religion followed by people in India. Followers of Sikhism are know as Sikhs.
A. I want to inform people about tragedy against Sikhs so that there will be no other instance in which people would be slaughtered.
B. Hindus lead the never forgotten riots against the Sikhs residing at the heart of India, New Delhi.
C. After the research on the riots against Sikhs I found many facts. The Sikhs were brutally killed by the Hindus which was a result from Sikhs assassinating Indian Prime Minister.

Body
I. The event was lead by several instances.
A. First Prime Minister of India planned to spread terror in the northern India, where majority of Sikhs were living.
1. She sent a Sikh named Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale to spread terror in the northern region of India.
2. Instead Jarnail Singh started to go against the government and wanted a separate nation for Sikhs which would be named Khalistan(Khala: Sikhs, stan: country).
B. On June 3, 1984 Operation Bluestar was initiated by Prime minister to stop terrorist activities by taking out Jarnail Singh.
1. Operation Bluestar meant an army attack at the most sacred Sikh Temple at Amritsar, Golden Temple which ended after three days.
2. Over 500 people were put to death by the military action.
3. The government did not wanted to offend Sikhs religion but had to take care of terrorism.
4. But Sikhs misunderstood and were offended by the military attack at their religious place.
C. Moving onto October 31, 1984 Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated.
