I am here today to inform a lil bit about the wonderful game of softball, and no thisi snt gonna be a boring blog post teaching you about the game. :) Here im just gonna say what this game has taught me and the benifets of them. Reecntly i havent been playing right where i want to be. As i got to thinking..it hit me god doesnt want to put you right where you wanna be. He wants you to struggle, he wants you to work hard for that spot. Thats what is so AWESOME about this game. Softball has taught me way more than throwing and catching a ball, or getting up to bat and swinging at strikes. The game of softball has taught me to work well with others, you cant have a team if you cant cummincate with others or even just exsist around other people.

To be an effective pitcher there are several strategies that you could use to help with your own success as well as the teams’. Knowing what pitches you have at your disposable will determine how your approach each batter differently. So you ask yourself, am I able to locate my fastball? Is my off-speed pitch effective enough to keep the hitter guessing at the speed? A pitcher must take notice to how the hitter sets up at the plate. Depending on the count (balls and strikes) will determine the type of pitch I must throw and the ones I shouldn’t throw. Most importantly, don’t be predicable. Every pitch counts so every pitch must set up the next pitch. Meaning high pitch counts will get you out of the game almost as quick as pitching homerun balls.…

Where do I start with the many memories we've shared. Whether they where at school, on the softball field, or even on the basketball court in elementary. I grew up playing sports with you, with your parents as my coaches. I remember in our elementary school days, you would bring a lunchable every day and I would eat the school lunch, and on pizza days you would trade your candy for my pepperonis. Everyone knew how much you loved pepperonis and Coca-Cola. Even while playing parks and rec softball on the hottest days of the summer, while everyone was chugging Gatorade or water, Tab would be drinking coke, with her hair down, in the scorching hot lol. We use to beg tab to put her hair in a ponytail but she would never do it lol I remember the…

My accomplishments in softball were second team third baseman for my freshman and sophomore year and my junior year I got the first team utility player. I have got voted team captain in softball. In softball we had two coach changes, out first coach was Mr. Chavez and the coach currently is Mr. Torgeson. These two men have different coaching methods and it was very hard to adjust. Chavez was all about the hitting and Torg was all about bunting. There overall look at how the game is played are completely different from each other. Therefore when he had a coaching change it was a big shock for me. As a freshman, I played on the varsity team and I really loved getting to have that experience. I loved playing softball and I have played since I was about 5. In Softball I seem to always hurt myself, I have hip problems and I just recently had surgery on my wrist because of softball. Therefore I learned that you need to take care of yourself and work out to keep everything attached. You also need to practice hard to succeed because in my opinion, I think hitting a softball is super hard and you need lots of practice succeed. Softball is a great example of you will fail first before you succeed because in softball there is three strikes and you might not hit the first pitch but you can hit the next one. Therefore batting in softball you might fail first before he succeed. “Never let the fear of striking out get in your…

One of the most important lessons that softball helped me perfect is teamwork. Teamwork makes the dream work, and it is the secret that makes common people achieve an uncommon result. Another vital factor is time management because everyone knows nothing good comes from being late or taking too long. In softball and life, communication is the key to success. My communication skills have been enhanced due to needing to be constantly heard and to avoid misinterpretation on and off the field. Softball can either make or break you, but it can also teach you important things you can carry on in…

As the baseball diamond started to fade in and out of my blurry vision, I realized something was wrong when I was still sitting on the bench. I was on varsity baseball, ( that’s what I thought I was gonna spend the rest of my life doing) my grade point average was rising, and I was surrounded by positive people all around me who gave off a positive vibe. Of course all good things must to an end right? Well my good times came to end quickly.…

The animals are ready to burst out of their cages and breathe the fresh air of middle school grounds. Students frantically begin to hush their peers in order to be the first let out. In the jungle, there are always two or three monkeys that decide to create chaos. Among the others, mumbling could be heard about the upcoming games about to take place. Many already started to decide what teams and students would be taking over the field. In Wilson Southern Middle School, those monkeys at recess decided to play a rule-breaking game of shark and minnows. Along with this game, they played a back breaking lunch bag tag, and an awkward imaginary game. Recess does not only contain games, but it has a huge impact on the body and its health.…

I entered high school with a chip on my shoulder, bitter from being the smallest and being disregarded by my classmates. This perceived injustice drove me to work extremely hard. Night after night, I would be in the basement working on my swing, wanting to prove my worth to everyone. After months of practicing, my softball skills were starting to progress, and I was finally starting to grow. I then began to experience success on the softball field as well.…

Softball means the world to me. Some may see it as just a sport, but to me it’s much more than that. Every time I step on the field I feel like I’m where I’m supposed to be. Perhaps my favorite thing about softball is that it’s an escape. Whatever is bothering me just doesn’t seem to matter anymore. My worries melt away as soon as I pick up a ball and glove. The field doesn’t judge you and no matter how many times you mess up, it still welcomes you back with open arms.…

Growing up I played baseball to me baseball was everything i could think of. i couldn't wait to the weekend so i could put on that dirty uniform and pick up the new bat and nice leather glove and play baseball. When i was young i played in a big park in NYC where everyone saw you play so as i grew up everyone expected me to continue playing baseball and get better and work hard my mother always signed me up for baseball and i met a lot of coaches who help me gain more talent throughout the years. So as i grew up baseball started to be more and more of a priority to me i went to baseball practice two times a week one during the week and one on the weekend and with baseball practice i attended a baseball program which is twice a week meaning less and less time for homework and time to study. that being said i believe that time management and dealing with less and less sleep is the biggest problem with high school sports.…
