Informative Essay On Parabola
My parabola is the arc of of which a diver’s body creates when he is in the pike position. It is irrelevant whether he is on the board, in the air, or on the ground. As long as the person is in the position that it all that matters.
This parabola can be created anywhere. As long as you can get into a pike position, the location does not really matter. However, a diving board helps the diver to jump up higher to create a more distinguished parabola. Diving can be found in most first world countries. It is an olympic sport and has been competed since the late nineteenth century.
Diving was first introduced as a sport in the Summer Olympics of 1904 in St. Louis. Diving itself has evolved throughout the twentieth century. At the time,

It attracts spectators from a variety of different sports. This is mainly because diving is very beautiful when the diver completes the dive with good form, a high jump that is not too close to the board, but not too far out, and he enters the water with very minimal splash and a hollow stomach. This attracts people to come watch which adds to the finances of a certain city, province, or region. Diving impacts people not only in the obvious way of teaching them cool tricks, but it teaches them how to overcome fear and how to work through difficulties and challenges of potentially losing a dive, or smacking on a dive and having to redo it. As I mentioned previously, diving is an olympic sport. This also brings people together to watch diving. Politically diving affects people’s health. There is no cabinet level department that is dedicated to sports and diving does not majorly impact politics. However, the Presidential Council of Physical Fitness and Sports advises the President through the Secretary of Health and Human Services about physical activities and sports. When it comes to party politics, the Republican Party, the most major Right-Wing political party in America endorses more emphasis on funding sports. Diving in a way can distinguish social classes. Due to diving not being a very common sport, it requiring extreme dedication, and causes coaches to spend long hours at the pool, it requires a very high tuition which not

It can give us the projectile’s (ball’s) maximum height value in this equation before it begins to descend. This is simply done by finding the value of h for the x-coordinate of the parabola, and then substituting that value into the equation and solving for k, whereas h is equal to –b/2a in the standard ax^2+bx+c quadratic equation. Therefore, in our case, -64/2(-16)=2 is equal to the x-coordinate of the parabola’s maximum value or vertex. Substituting 2 into -16t^2+64t+100 will give us -16(2)^2+64(2)+100=164, which is the vertex’s y-coordinate. Combining them gives the maximum value of the ball’s flight; the height at 164 feet and the time at 2 seconds, which combine at the vertex point (2,164) on the Cartesian…

A parabola can easily be viewed as an elegant arched trajectory naturally formed by any projectile, from an artillery round to a tomato, moving in a gravitational field. Parabolas have been extensively studied since people started throwing stuff at each other, and they shape the outcome of many ballistic sports, such as baseball, golf, football, shot put and more. But they reach their apex in basketball, where field goals and free throws demand precision control of parabolas. So in tribute to the ongoing NCAA Basketball championships, I present to you, “the March Madness Parabola”.…

The Olympics Games were athletic competition held in Greece from 776 BCE to 393 CE. They took a hiatus before starting up again in 1892. Once the modern Olympics had begun in 1892, it had effects on society. These effects include a social change of unifying people across the world of the same and different genders, a cultural change of a strong passionate desire to beat the other countries to win the gold, and an economic change of the Olympics costing billions of dollars to the host city.…

Observation is the key to conduct this experimental study of the Cartesian diver. First a 2-liter bottle is filled with water to almost all the way to the top, then prepare the diver which is a test tube, fill the test tube about 50-60% with water, place the diver inside the bottle the diver should float near the water surface then secure the cap on the bottle. When the container is squeezed, the diver should sink to the bottom of the container. Release the bottle slowly, the diver should come up in reverse order.…

In the dive I create a streamline position so that I can make a clean entry into the water, this will limit the splash at the point of entry into the water allowing me to swim a faster length. Whilst I wait to dive of the board I must make a specific pose with body so that I can enter the water quickly. The first position should be made before a signal has been called out, I should have my fingertips touching the tip of the board, one heel should be in contact with the board and the other foot should be placed at the back of the board. When a signal has been called to signify the start of the race I should balance my body weight towards the front of the board. I believe that my reaction time to the signal is also one of my strengths as I react very quickly.…

Competitive diving is a sport that often begins with failure but can lead to success. A new dive is challenging because of the fear of the unknown, the preparation time, and the confidence it requires. You do not know how to perform the dive; therefore, you do not know how to respond if something goes wrong. In diving, fear is as controllable as managing an energetic three year old; extremely difficult.…
