Informative Essay On Ketogenic Diets
Although nowhere near as popular as they were in the 90's when the Atkins diet was seemingly omnipresent, low-carbohydrate ketogenic diets are still very highly regarded in many circles as effective, maintainable weight loss diets. Below are a few tips to maximize your success on a ketogenic diet.

Many experts recommend that men intake a minimum of 3 liters of beverages each day, while the figure for women is 2.2 liters daily. A good indicator of proper hydration is the color of your urine. If your urine is clear or light yellow, you're most likely properly hydrated. Keep a bottle of water with you everywhere you go!

You can drink unsweetened liquors like vodka, rum, tequila, gin, whiskey, scotch, cognac, and brandy, along with the occasional low-carb beer. Use low-carb mixers and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, as hangovers are notoriously bad while in ketosis. And remember, calories still count, so don't go overboard. All things in moderation.
5.) Be patient.
While the ketogenic diet is known for rapid weight loss, especially in the early stages of the diet, weight loss is always a slow, time-consuming process. Don't freak out if the scale doesn't show weight loss, or shows slight weight increases, for a few days. Your weight varies day-to-day (and throughout the day) based upon a number of factors. Don't forget to use metrics like how your clothes fit or body measurements to see progress beyond what the scale

    1. According to the reported data, my water intake is still short about 100ml/day, and the fluid mostly comes from water. In order to prevent the dehydration, which might eventually cause coma and death if severe, as well as increased burden on kidney and decreased blood electrolyte caused by over-consumption of water, the better choices will be juices that are fortified vitamins, such as orange juice where usually vitamin A and calcium and some other B-complex vitamins are added other than vitamin C. In addition, a cup of orange juice contains about 120 kcal. Even though my total calorie intake is below, I should still limit the added sugar as much as I can, so one cup per day should be enough to meet the fluid requirement (1638ml) but won’t significantly exceed the total required calorie intake.…

This diet is a short-term diet plan that is designed to ‘kick-start’ your weight loss journey. By the end of the week you are guaranteed to have lost up to 4.5 kilos. A low kilo-joule diet like the cabbage soup diet confines you from eating types of food and the amounts you eat. They are usually based on one single food – like a cabbage. This is the reason you loose so much weight because you receive a very minimal level of kilo-joules. Although this diet is very low in calories you are receiving a high amount of fiber. The downside to this diet is that you again are not eating the varieties of foods from the food groups, therefore not receiving the essential nutrients, vitamins and…

Diabetic ketoacidosis is a serious complication of diabetes that occurs when your body produces high levels of blood acids called ketones. Diabetic ketoacidosis develops when your body is unable to produce enough insulin and an increase in insulin counter-regulatory hormones (catecholamines, cortisol, glucagon and growth hormone). Insulin normally plays a key role in helping sugar (glucose) — a major source of energy for your muscles and other tissues — enter your cells. Without enough insulin, your body begins to break down fat as an alternate fuel. This process produces a build-up of toxic acids in the bloodstream called ketones, eventually leading to diabetic ketoacidosis if untreated.…

The great thing about approaching dieting this way is not necessarily having to eat less. Of course, you will still have to eat the right kind of foods, so do watch what you eat. One thing about traditional dieting is how the whole body goes into survival mode to preserve whatever calories and fat it has. This is especially true if you skip one or two meals. A much more effective strategy is to eat several smaller meals in a day, rather than the traditional breakfast, lunch and dinner. This ensures the stomach stays satisfied throughout the day. There are a number of metabolic diet recipes you can try that you can refer to when you start cooking meals that are appropriate for dieting. Another mistake that some dieters make is skipping breakfast. Unfortunately those who do, tend to overeat later in the day and will likely suffer from sluggishness. By eating breakfast, this allows you to effectively jump-start your metabolism after having fasted overnight. This helps the body burn more calories throughout the day and avoid the sluggishness that is typically experienced by most dieters. Coffee is another key component that most adults already take advantage of. Coffee has long been known to boost the nervous system and keep it more alert and ready to burn more energy and calories.…
