There are thousands of truck stops in the world, but no truck stop compares to Iowa 80. Iowa 80 is more than just a truck stop. It is a tourist attraction. Typical truck stops include run down showers, a run-of-the-mill convenience store, and maybe a restaurant or two. Iowa 80 has commodities to meet a wide variety of needs. Iowa 80 Truck stop features eight restaurant choices, a convenience store, gift store, Super Truck Showroom, barber shop, chiropractor, dentist, movie theater, workout room, laundry facilities, gas islands, diesel fuel center, truck service center, Truckomat truck wash, Dogomat pet wash, CAT Scale, 24-hour private showers, trucking museum and more! (Iowa 80 Group, 2017, p. 2) Iowa 80 is more than just a typical run of the mill truck stop, Iowa 80 is a tourist attraction! Iowa 80 Truckstop began serving truckers out of a small white building in 1964 before Interstate 80 was completely built. Bill Moon was the founder of Iowa 80 truck stop which was then known as standard oil. The truck stop was located right off of highway 284. Beginning is 1997, long haul truck drivers could order everything they needed to repair their tractor trailer from the Iowa 80 truck stop. Even if their route did not take them through Walcott, a town located right off of Interstate 80. Drivers now had the option of ordering by phone from a catalog or online 24 hours a day. To accompany the catalog Iowa 80 provides their customers with a colossal repair store. The shelves are decorated with chrome accessories and there are three tractor trailers featured within the shop. Iowa 80 is the only truck stop that provides this convenience to long haul
