Dear Ms. Lear,
Here is the report you requested on March 26, 2012 at our weekly department meeting, about one of the major changes in our company, which I found to be social networking usages.
I believe that with the constant change of technology it would be wrong not to be informed about social networking and its benefits and drawback in our company. Social networking provides us with a fast and cheap way to market our company. It can also provide us with a new way to hiring employees. But it can also have its drawbacks with security and confidentiality problems.
The data I collected mainly revolve around secondary resources. Including reviews of some recently published articles and studies on the use of social networking in business from sources like The Wall Street Journal and CBS News. I choose these sources because I found them really relevant to the subject and they help identify the negative and positive aspects of social networking.

More than 80 percent of your employees already have the knowledge and skills of operating social media websites, so we as upper level management should have the knowledge and skills too. Keeping informed on technological changes such as social media changes will help our company maintain its competitive edge.
I would like to thank you for giving me the opportunity to work on this

With various ongoing debates about why social networking may be bad for society, I have found it to be a positive resource. Social networking comes in many forms. It comes in the form of facebook, twitter, and even professional forums such as Linkedin. In such a fast-paced world, I find social networking to be an invaluable way of sharing ideas and interests that allow me to remain engaged. Although some may debate that social networking takes away from face to face and/or quality interactions, I have found it to be an invaluable tool in building community and networks. In fact, I believe it has given us a more effective way of communicating and engaging with one another especially in our fast-paced society.…

Social networking has exploded across the Internet in recent years. The sites allow individuals to present themselves and focus on social networking, meeting and connecting with others and can range from work-related contexts to friend-based and special interest networks (Delouise, 2009). With the growing popularity of social networking sites the past few years companies have had to decide whether or not to adopt the sites into the workplace. Employers should not be allowed to restrict employees’ access to social networking sites during work hours because they are powerful, effective, communication tools, which enable employees’ ability to connect with others. Social networking allows organizations to improve communication and productivity among employees, enhances global communication, and is necessary in order to keep up with competitors.…
