The title of my project paper is “Information Elements in the Introduction Section of Journal Articles in Environmental Science. I have chosen six journals to base my research study on. These three articles of my choosing are related to my major which is Environmental Health. The importance of doing research in Environmental Science assists me to know about more about the field of Environmental for my future. Nevertheless, reading all the 6 journals, each has different subfield helps me to understand further in Environmental Science. What is Research? Research is the investigation of philosophy, to establish novel facts, solve new or existing problems, prove new ideas, or set up new theories, usually using a scientific method. A broad definition of research is given by Martyn Shuttleworth, 2008 - "In the broadest sense of the word, the definition of research includes any gathering of data, information and facts for the advancement of knowledge.” When all the information is gathered and written by an investigator from research is known as experimental report. The objective of the report is to explain to other profession about the aim, ways and the output of the study were. The report may be written in a journal, it may exist as a monograph distributed by a university, or it may be written in the form of thesis as part of the necessity for a university degree. There are a lot of different experimental reports. One of them is the controlled scientific experiment, where the researcher conducts empirical test while identifying and controlling the factors that may affect the outcome of the study. Another type of research is the correlation, in which the investigator compares more than one different variable to determine the relationship among them.
