I am Professor Ernst Ruska. I was born in 25 December 1906 in Heidelberg Germany as the fifth of seven children of Professor Julius Ruska. I finished my school in 1925 than I started to study electrician. I always liked to do experiment and I was really concerned that how Busch theory proofs the effect of magnetic field of coil which electric current is passed. 1
. I started to work with Dr Knoll in 1931 on electron microscope. After working hard for three years. In 1933 I was able to put into use electron microscope by myself which works much better then Light Microscope.

2
In 1928 Max Knoll and I worked together to make a microscope which we successfully discovered a Electron microscope which magnified object only up to 17 times bigger than actual size. In 1937 Canadian American scientist James Hillier worked with me and Max Knoll which we came up with an improvement magnification of 7,000. 3
It has been a lot of improvement between 1982-1989 developed an electron microscope with a magnification up to 2 millions which is 50 times greater than any other actual microscope. There are some advantages and disadvantages for electron microscope 4
The advantages are that we can see an object with greater detail due to High magnifications up to 1000000 and high resolving power up to 0.0002 micrometre.

5
The disadvantages are that preparation of specimens is time consuming difficult and expensive, and also can not view live specimens. These are the thing that we can see with electron Microscope and cant see with light microscope are Endoplasmic Reticulum, Ribosome, and Lisosomes.
6
Endoplasmic Reticulum is an original that is responsible for creation of protein and lipid through the body
Ribosomes are organelles that occurred inside the cell which is responsible for collecting the proteins from the cell.
Lysosomes are cellular organisms that contain amino acid

Firstly, optical microscopes and electron microscopes both work in different ways. As the light source or condenser of an optical microscope focuses light on a tiny bright spot of the specimen, the microscope accumulates light from the well-illuminated specimen in the stage of the microscope. The small objective lens then brings the image of the object into focus within the microscope’s tube, and is then magnified by a second lens, called an ocular lens or the eyepiece. The specimen in an optical microscope can be rather thick.…

James Hillier and Albert Prebus spent their most of their time in the University of Toronto building a prototype of the electron microscope, which would be used for later versions of it in the future. While James Hillier was working at the Radio Corporation of America, he also developed and perfected the device using the previous prototype. Both Hillier and Prebus manufactured the parts of the device themselves, and, naming the experiment and development “strictly a string and beeswax operation”, it took the two scientists months to complete the microscope.…

Some of the disadvantages of the light microscope include, that since it send light, the light waves are diffracted as they pass through the matter. Because of this, light microscopes can only produce clear images of objects to a magnification of about 1000 times. Another problem is that since most living cells are nearly transparent, you can’t see them. So you have to use dyes to stain them. The advantage of using a light microscope however is that you can use it to see cells and cell structures as small as 1 millionth of a meter! Electron microscopes are used to study things even smaller such as viruses or DNA molecules. Some disadvantages include the fact that while using a transmission electron microscope, its beams of electrons can only pass thorough thin samples, cells and tissue must be cut into ultrathin slices before being examined because of this. Images often appear flat and two dimensional also. Another disadvantage is that, electrons, unlike light, don’t come in colors. Scientists use computer techniques to add “false colors” because of this to make certain structures stand out.…

There are several advantages of using the electron microscope. One example is that the resolution is 0.2nm, which is 1000x more than in the light microscope. Because of this, the electron microscope can be used to produce detailed images of the structures and organelles within cells. In addition the SEM produces 3D images that can reveal the detail of contours and cellular or tissue arrangements, which is not possible to do using a light microscope.…

Another useful tool in the research and increased understanding of prokaryotic organisms is the optical microscope, or the light microscope, which is a type of microscope which uses visible light and a system of lenses to magnify images of small samples. The upside to using this form of microscope is that you are able to observe living organisms. However the use of electron microscopes allows greater magnification. Over all, the uses of both electron microscopes and light microscopes have increased the understanding of Cyanobacteria.…

To overcome the limitations of sight, the telescope, microscope and magnifier are used. The telescope let the space scientists to be able to look very distant objects like the moon, so that we know more about space. The function of the microscope is to view very small objects such as microorganisms. It is very useful to the microbiologists. Besides that, the magnifier also can overcome the limitations of sight because it can magnify the small objects.…
