After reading the article I believe that discontinuities do exists across early development from infancy to toddlerhood, but I also agree that the differences in the data could be a cause of discontinuity between the infants and toddlers. One major issue that persisted was being able to compare the infants and toddlers in the “relation between gaze in infants with the behavior and search in toddlers is inconsistent and does not allow the researches to properly compare both groups real abilities.
