Inequalities In High Street
The street which has been chosen for this assignment is high street in the small city.This street is a good example of observing some inequalities and differences which are demonstrating themselves ,in more or less obvious ways and compare and contrast them with some of those found on City Road ,Cardiff.It will explore things such as : change over time ,compete use of the space gender, material infrastructure all of these launch out some differences and inequalities in patterns, which could be applied for any street in the world.

High street is the longest street in the city centre,but in contrast with City Road ('making social lives DVD'2009),it is much smaller and hosting fewer variety of shops,pubs,restaurant, clubs,takeaways.Over the course of the years ,many changes has taken place ,the most dominant one is the alterations to old buildings ,as they have been leased by larger businesses such as Starbucks,Coffee one and Subway .They have arrived mostly due to new social demands,as a local college has expand on their courses and that led to more students moving in. At the corner of high street ,some space is taken by local traders twice a week,as their stalls are on space which is normally used as a car park ,it has caused problems for businesses around as their customers cant park there and causing disturbance for customers staying in hotel. However ,local council wants to keep a tradition with the traders, despite of protest businesses surrounded around there which would use the space for their customers at all
