Individual INDP Part 1
Since all of the facilities have the same configuration that runs over a single server that feeds all the computers on the network. An Ethernet connection is used for each unit this connection can be unstable in many instances because of the difficulty hubs can have handling high network traffic. In order to combat this issue an update to a centralized system would be ideal. The central computer to hand all the computing duties while each client could connect to receive the data from the central server. As technology has improved over time the cost for this type of network has become more feasible.

The setup that the three locations currently are using is identical with means the same issues are present at each location. Many of the companies’ computers are running Windows98 which is very out dated today. Each of the computers host in this network boasts a 56k modem that is only capable of 56k speeds to access out of the company’s network. With this kind of modem it does require an additional phone lines and with that means that the system is not always connected to the network. This type of network are very hard to troubleshoot, if one system goes down it could cause other issues for the system (Kudler Fine Foods, 2010).

Implementing a set of standards that would insure that the computers and the software that they run are accessible at all times as well as being able to communicate with some of the old software that will still be use. This will allow the data that is already on the servers to be accessed with little to no effort.

Many changes will need to be made the method that each of the stores will connect and communicate with one another is another issue that will need to be addressed. In the future to promote growth the system that should be implemented would be easily expanded to include new stores as the company grows.

However, the mainframe is accomplished by serving a huge numbers of network nodes geographically separated across the world at the same time as conducting a elevated volume of input and output operation to disk storage, printers in addition to other attached computers (Network Management, 2013). Several the capabilities would be the IP communication among huge numbers of Linux as well as z/OS operating systems running as z/VM (Virtual Machine) guest machines (Network Management, 2013).…

Ethernet is one of the most popular and widely used LAN technologies because of its speed, reliability, cost, and lastly its ease of installation. Ethernet networks can be configured in either a star topology using UTP connected to a hub or a bus topology using a coaxial cable acting as a backbone. When a computer wants to send data over the network, it will listen to see if there is any traffic on the network, if it is clear, it will then broadcast the data through the network. I think that most of today’s companies, including XYZ technology consultants, would be better off implementing an Ethernet protocol. Because this business is in one building, and the effectiveness of the efficiency is distance limited, Ethernet protocol seems the best fit for this scenario.…
