Watching the movie Indiana Jones The Raiders of the Lost Ark was great to feel like you're there. And you can tell there a relationship between Jones and Marion because they seem to have already met and have a past relationship and to pick up back where they left off and helping with that happening in the movie helped me find the theme of the movie i’m not gonna lie was very difficult but I found a couple of possible themes one theme I picked was action. Action because there was a lot of action in the movie with all the fighting, guns, fire, and jumping i thought that if they took out of that then the movie would be like ten to five minutes long. Another theme i thought was a possibility was mystery. Mystery because they go on hunts for treasure…

It is known historically that the Crusades started because the emperor of the Byzantine Empire was afraid of the Turks threat to invade, leading him to ask Pope Urban II for help. The pope then decided to start a series of wars, known as the Crusades, to take the holy land, Jerusalem, back from the Arabs. Although it is still a question whether helping the emperor was truly the motive of the pope. At this time the pope was also struggling with the Investiture Controversy, a power struggle between the king and pope that lasted for about 50 years. Therefore, many historians believe that because of the power struggle the pope was hungry for power. Scholars also have found many differing views from years of research explaining the pope’s attention…

Peter and his followers marched southward and eastward toward Constantinople. As they marched through Hungary and Bulgaria they helped themselves to crops, cattle and other possessions of the local villagers. Some of the men attacked and raped the local women and those who resisted were killed (Biel 37). Their anger grew to such an intensity by the time they reached Greece, they entered a Christian village mistaking them for Seljuk Turks, and massacred all the people. Alarmed by reports of such barbaric acts Hungarians, Bulgarians and Greeks banded together to attack the crusaders as they continued their march to Constantinople (Biel 37). During this time many crusaders were killed or gave up and returned to their homes in Europe.…

Billy Graham once said, “Nothing can bring a real sense of security into the home except true love.” The Grand Inquisitor, by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, is a chapter from The Brothers Karamazov. It is about the time when Jesus Christ comes down to earth and gets caught by the Grand Inquisitor, where He gets blamed for providing people freedom to choose. The two characters, Jesus Christ and the Grand Inquisitor, have two antithetical viewpoints about freedom. Based on their reasonings, we can discern both of them as good or evil characters. The First Crusade began in 1095, when Emperor Alexius I of the Byzantine Empire arranged a meeting with Pope Urban II to ask for advice and assistance to defend the Byzantine empire. After this meeting, Pope Urban II realized that they had an opportunity to organize and recapture the Holy Lands. Consequently, the Pope called for a meeting of the Council of Clermon, and at this time he gave an inspiring speech in which he asked the lords of Europe to join his efforts to take back the holy land from the "the infidels", who were the Muslims. With Godfrey of Bouillon and other French lords leading, the army began their march from Constantinople to Antioch. During this long march, the army had to cross through lands that were held by the Seljuk Turks. Thus, the Crusaders had to battle Turk forces along their journey. However,…
