Profit maximizing:
By understanding what the marginal profit for each sale made, will help determine what the profit maximizing quantity is. In the case of Haught Dawg selling the “chicago style hotdog” at $3:50 each, and at 20 sold, profit would be $70, for 40 sold profit would be $140, 60 dogs $200, and for 80 dogs it would be $180. So my profit maximizing is 60 dogs.

Barrier of entry:
There could be problem getting in to this business so late after the rush of 2011, but the rush has not ended there are food trucks opening every day. A bad thing is this means more competition, the good things is new routes are being established. Another barrier is helping customers understand the difference in my product than everyone of other establishes that advertises for Chicago style hotdog.

    2. Profit maximization can also be determined by looking at the marginal revenue to marginal cost approach. Marginal revenue is the change in total revenue resulting from the sale of an additional unit of product. Marginal cost is the cost of producing that one extra unit. To find if profits are maximized, marginal cost is subtracted from marginal revenue. Profit maximization occurs when marginal revenue exceeds marginal cost. This approach is only used if deemed profitable, if not, it is best to not produce extra.…

Profit maximization in terms of total revenue to total cost can be approached in two different ways. The first is to take total revenue and total cost for a time period and subtract total cost from total revenue for each unit produced to determine how many units produced would yield the highest profit. To do this in this scenario I have illustrated it in the chart below.…

In the first stage, the introductory stage, mentions by the text book that “a new product’s purchase is limited because members of the stage market are insufficiently aware of its existence; also the product often lacks easy availability” (Mullins & Walker, 2010, p271). The company should shorten the product line to reduce production costs and hold down inventories, and because the pricing is affected by many factors, companies usually use skimming and penetration pricing strategies for their new products. Skimming is “designed to obtain as much margin per unit as possible” (Mullins & Walker, 2010, p272), which means setting a high price for the product in the beginning of the product life cycle. It allows the company to recover investment of the…

To better understand how to maximize revenue the firm must first comprehend marginal revenue and how it relates to total revenue. Marginal revenue is the change in total revenue from the sale in one additional unit of product (McConnell, Bruce, Flynn, 2012). For example, two lamps that sell for six dollars total revenue is twelve dollars. This answer is found by using the formula quantity x price. If an additional lamp was produced, the marginal revenue would show if there was any change to the total previously found. To find the marginal revenue one must divide the total revenue by the quantity of items sold. Fortunately, in a competitive market the marginal revenue will also equal the price of the good.…
