For example Chicago, Illinois and Dallas, Texas are some of the greatest high tech cities in the US and have a higher standard of living compared to Philadelphia. In order for a city to be fully productive, it needs to keep up with the technological growth, but we has not yet done so. As I walked down 31st and Chestnut street, I came across a building that was the ultimate guide to achieve my goal in improving Philadelphia: Drexel University. Our city has potential to become one of the most high-tech cities in the United States. With the education provided to me by Drexel University, I will be sure to advance every corner of Philadelphia. Just like Anthony J. Drexel had a …show more content…
By innovating buildings, computers, and transportation more people would be willing to come to Philadelphia. The vision I soon wish to aspire is getting the unemployment rate down to 4% which will enable us to have endless opportunities. In current circumstances, unemployment rates in Philadelphia are at 6.8% and when compared to more technologically advanced cities, we are not doing well. Considering this, I want to change Philadelphia, so it is more appealing to people's eyes and make it a place with more job opportunities. In fact, all our city needs is a “technological boom,” to create something that is completely unique. At Drexel I will be able to gather all the information I learn about computers and coding to create a program or a different type of computer system that catches the attention of millions of people. It will benefit the entire city in the long run. With the continuous information provided to me by Drexel I can expand my knowledge to the endless

Titles are commonly added to the beginning of a name to honor that name. John Smith, depending on what he has accomplished, can be addressed as doctor Smith, mister Smith, reverend Smith, attorney Smith, professor Smith, governor Smith, coach Smith, officer Smith, or captain Smith. One might wonder: why should these positions be given a title, but not others? Why not farmer Smith, telecommuter Smith, or hog butcher Smith? Chicago, by Carl Sandburg, gives ordinary jobs, such as a hog butcher, the honor of titles. Sandburg opens the poem with well worded apostrophe by giving the city of Chicago these honored jobs. Chicago does not symbolize these jobs, or contain people who have these jobs; Chicago actually has those jobs. After Sandburg establishes Chicago's different jobs, he goes on to talk about what other people say about Chicago. Although these things are phrased as accusations, the speaker does not interpret them this way; he or she admits that these problems are a real part of the city. The speaker does not get defensive in any way; instead, he or she goes straight to listing all of the positive things that Chicago has that the opposing cities do not. Maybe the opposing city's spokesperson leaves, or maybe the speaker just talks over them, either way, the speaker gets more and more excited as he or she describes Chicago until in the end he or she repeats what is said in the opening lines. Carl Sandburg attests the tenacity and iron will of lower class citizens residing in Chicago in many of his poems, including Mill doors, They will say, The shovel man, Passers by, subway, muckers, and of course, Chicago. Carl Sandburg uses personification and diction to show that Chicago is characteristic of a young and wild man full of vitality and spirit.…

He said, “The places that grow and develop economically for a long period and have a sustainable economic edge are the ones that tap, mobilize, and harness human creativity in all forms,” including creativity in economic, engineering, civic, and political fields. A place needs a big group of thriving entrepreneurial talent that takes the resources and turns them into a company, but on top of that, that company would need a pool of creative people that could work there.…

To my mind we have to deal with it; the ideal situation would be that this system- the system we invented at first only for a bit of help, but which has now come to replace our actual work- wouldn't be able to "work" without us, without human "touch". It should probably be a satisfactory combination of duty and pleasure: the duty you have towards the place where you work, and the pleasure consisting in having your work done easier with the help of your "friend" technology- the computer.…
