Importance Of Respect Research Paper
Respect

You must treat someone how you would like to be treated. Respect is admiring someone or something for their abilities, qualities, and achievements. You must gain respect. You may be able to receive respect for doing nothing, but it may just be out of fear. Not only is respect about admiration, but it involves emotion towards others and details. If you treat someone with respect you will have an easier time gaining their trust. People see that you will listen to them, and they will tend to work with you more than against you. When you use respect you will become a better person. Helping people, yourself, you can get farther in life. Say that you will give the care or help to the people that need it. Treat yourself how you want to

From past experiences I have learned the real meaning of respect. This word is more powerful than one can imagine. With respect comes unselfishness. When people respect others, they are treated equally. My mother and father always told me to be tactful in the way I treated others, so I would also be respected. It has worked in the past and will always hold true in the future. If someone respects another with proper judgment, people feel good inside which gives them a sense of integrity. When I give respect and witness how it makes others feel, I feel like more of a person. I feel proud. Honored.…

I believe in respect. I believe that everyone should be treated fairly. I had a friend, well, I like to think I had a friend, who had the ability to make everything negative. She had the ability to make even the happiest person depressed. She was also very opinionated and and took down anyone and anything in her path. I have to give her credit, her opinion was always heard. But, that doesn't mean her opinion was always right. I would always try to tell her that something was wrong, or that she made someone feel bad, but she would never listen. She would just tell me that I was wrong and not her.…

    The Importance Of Respect

Why can’t respect be seen as treat others in the way they should be treated and not just based upon the way the other person treat them? This is why patience is a virtue when it comes to respect. People often lose tempers when they feel disrespected because even though their definition is different, everyone feels they deserve it even if their means of giving it are not always right. Giving respect to a person gives them a sense of self-worth and it makes them feel like they are of value to someone or something. Respect gives people a sense of purpose in the lives of others and the line between the opposite should not be so thin. It may be easier for people to understand respect if they first understand the true value of the term and why it is so important. Point is no one likes to be disrespected and from this point of view makes it the easiest position for people to understand why it is important. Everyone at one time or another in their lives have been guilty of decreasing the level of respect for people they either don’t know, feel that they are less important, or people that don’t meet their standard for…

Reflecting on respect the first thing that comes to mind is treating others the way you want to be treated. I believe people deserve only as much respect as they give, although there are many very disrespectful people, on the other side there are also many very respectful people. The definition of respect is a feeling of admiration for someone because of their qualities or achievements. This definition was taken from a dictionary. I do not agree with this definition because we should respect people regardless of their qualities or achievements, people seem to only respect those who are of a higher class than them, but disrespect those who are a class lesser than themselves. We do not have to admire people or what they do, just respect them. People might think more highly of a president than an inventor or scientist, but at the same time not think anything of the next door neighbor. If we were to respect everyone regardless of them being in a high or low position then the imbalance would be fixed. There wouldn’t be so much disrespect in the world, something that needs to be cleared up is the difference between fear and respect and also their correlation; many people respect others out of fear of them, they might be afraid to stand up for what’s right because of possible consequences or they may feel threatened or something around them threatened. For example, an employee an employee might find a boss is cheating him out of his money, instead of standing up and saying something about he could be afraid of getting fired and therefore won’t do anything, but he could be courageous and say something. There are even more extreme scenarios. I believe respect is connected to each individual sense of self quality. Responsibility, discipline, integrity, imagination…etc, I believe respect is part of suing each of those.…

Respect means a lot of different things for different people. It includes taking someone’s feelings, needs, thoughts, wishes and preferences into consideration. It also means taking all of these seriously and give them worth and value. In fact, giving someone repect seems similar to valuing them and their thoughts, and feelings. It also seems to include acknowledging them, listening to them, being truthful with them, and accepting the individual beliefs. Respect is to be shown through behavior and it can also be felt. We can act in ways which are considered respectful, yet we can also feel respected by someone. Because it is possible to act in way that do not reflect how we really feel, the feeling of respect is much more important than the behavior without the feeling.when the feeling is there the feeling will naturally follow. When we are respected we gain the voluntary cooperation of people. We don’t have to use as much as our energy and resouces trying to get our needs met. When people respect one another there are fewer conflicts. In summary, it is for both evolutionary and practical reasons that respect is important and also why we simply feel better when we are respected. Respect seems to be like a boomerang in the sense that you must send it out before it will come back to you. Respect can not be demanded or forced, though sometimes people mistakenly believe that it can be commanded. If respecting someone means respecting their feelings and there needs, then if a person does not respect your feelings and your need then they don’t respect you at all. If those in positions of power and authority do not respect your needs and feelings, they will not earn your respect. Defining respect in three seprate dictionaries, respect is defined as a regard for or appreciation of the worth or value of someone or something. How would the world differ without respect? Respect is the act of showing someone that you value his or her feelings. Respect is a universal value…

    The Importance of Respect

Respect is very commonly and mutually defined as regard for, or appreciation of worth or value of someone or something. In my opinion, respect goes far beyond this definition. Respect is the cornerstone of the society in which we live. Although many look at respect as simply treating another person or thing with kindness, this word has many different aspects. Respect plays a big role in our everyday lives. Everywhere we go and everyone we meet, we give some form of respect. Respect comes in many various forms. It can be something such as a simple smile in passing, or it can be a great form of recognition like receiving an award. Respect is not considered a necessity in this world but, I can’t imagine a person getting very far in life without this personally trait. Different people and situations call for different forms of respect. For example, I would not give a child the same form of respect as I would an elderly citizen. The most important form of respect is self-respect. It has been said that in order to earn the respect of others, one would need to learn to treat oneself with respect. Self-respect has a lot to do with self-esteem. If someone has low self-esteem, that someone can lose sight of self-respect and respect for others. I believe that a person’s self-respect will determine the amount of respect that they give and receive from others. Respect is a two way street. In order to get respect one must be willing to give respect. Respect is a universal value that each person desires not only to embody, but also to receive. Respect is not just what you say but also the way you act. Showing people that you take their feelings and thoughts into consideration are how to earn respect. If you demonstrate respect toward others, then others will respect you and listen to your opinions. Another way to earn respect is by not constantly pointing out peoples faults or defects; instead you earn it by encouraging a person by to make better decisions. If you…
