Importance Of Moral Values In Our Life
Name: Ho Jing Yi
Topic: Importance of moral values in our life
Good morning to all teachers and fellow friends. Today I, Ho Jing Yi of class 5 Alfa am standing here to speak briefly on the importance of moral values especially to be courteous in our life.
It would not be inappropriate to say that moral values from our lives are slowly fading. Those days are gone when we were keen to help our neighbours at their struggling moment, to victims of any disaster, needy people and being polite to all. Today if a person meets with any serious accident, no one will take the risk to take him to the hospital, but first his luggage or goods get robbed. In addition, people have become rude who do not respect others or their elders.
Moral values are the basic of our existence and if we use them, they will give us great joy. Also, if we feel it, it would give us a sense of relief and great contentment. To be courteous is a must in a student’s life since he or she may have to face many people in their life. Secondly, It gives immense content to those who exercise them and those whom exercised. Helping a blind man to cross the road, giving food to the needy, consoling a really depressed person or sharing one’s grief, are invaluable services born of these moral values. At the same time, be courteous and polite.
I earnestly request everyone to be polite and courteous in life. It doesn’t tax one’s pocket to use them but it increases love, affection and respect between people. Paying respect to elders especially teachers, showing politeness to young children, helping the needy and others, are what we as students, need the most. This also shows the manners and also the quality of our background. Being courteous will not minimize your ego but it will increase the love, respect and personality for you in other’s heart.
Hope all of us will be more courteous and polite to everyone in our life. It starts from our home, school and in our society at large. Good luck in building your character and to be a better human being.

Born in a middle-class Christian family from South India, the strict traditional values helped to embed the concept of service through family and friends who taught me trust, respect, integrity, and responsibility for my education and beliefs. One of my major spiritual values that kindled the concept of service within me is “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” which is found in the Bible. At an early age I started to practice this concept by not only self-respect for myself but mainly treating others with respect. Individuals may build their moral values from listening to their parents, grandparents, religious beliefs, friends, books, their local societal values and even watching television. Moral values and…

    What Respect Means to You

However, as soon as I got into college, I realized that respect is also something that I have to earn from others, which means that I not only have to get involved into them, but also have to be trustworthy to them, and that is how a friendship is established. Gradually, I find that people's feelings are all tied with their honor, self worth, status and ideas. If we want someone to treat us a certain way, we have to treat them the same way. As my mom says "treat others the way you want to be treated", I keep those words in the deepest part of my heart and remind myself to have good manners all the time to everyone that I meet in my life. For example, I show my respect to my elders by always offering help by any means possible, always saying ‘please’, ‘thank you’ whenever it is needed.…

The process of changing our thoughts, behavior, values and ethics in a global setting is how we reconcile and as a result, conform to a socially accepted standard. This is often called normative behavior; we act according to the appropriateness of conduct deemed satisfactory to a particular group. The rules of acceptable conduct are dependent on the setting; what is right and wrong or socially acceptable depends greatly on the values of the people (and their respective culture) involved. As a result, the reconciliation of personal values is merely becoming consistent with the actions, thoughts, behavior, values and ethics of our peers, parents, teachers, etc. The intent of this paper is to discuss the aforementioned compliance of personal values as they are adapted to a particular setting.…
