It is important to be on time for everything, but it is extremely important to be on time at your place of duty. There are are countless reasons to be on time at your work place. The main reasons are professionalism, dependability, and it builds success. Another reason it is important to be on time is that it shows that you have a sense of responsibility and take your obligations towards others seriously. Being late to work not only affects you but it can also affect your co-workers/battle buddies. Showing up on time shows that you are a valued asset. These select things can help you see why being on time is a highly important thing in the place of duty, and many other aspects of your life. No one likes to be sittng there, waiting for someone and wondering if they are going to show up at all.
Being late can show lack of professionalism in your work place. When your higher up sees that you are a professional, and care about the duty given to you, more respect will be shown. It should be a high propriety to get your higher ups to look at you as a professional because this can help you down the road. Punctuality has been and always will be a vital aspect of military discipline. A soldier who is late or does not report at all to a place at the time ordered can hinder the efficiency of a task or mission. Being late can cause adverse actions to be taken. Adverse actions can range from a counseling to an Article 15. These can hurt not only your place of duty but also your home life. Some thing so simple as being on time can cause so much more damage than needed.
Responsibility results in a positive character trait that shows a high degree of unselfishness. When a person shows high responsibility it shows that they exhibit high moral judgment. Showing up to your place of duty on time, or even early, everyday shows that you are a responsible person.
