Impact Of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's Attack On Pearl Harbor

On December 7, 1941, an attack was launched on America that immediately drew them into World War II. Hundreds of Japanese fighter planes spent their morning commuting to an American naval base at Pearl Harbor. Once arrived, these planes destroyed twenty naval vessels along with 300 airplanes. Not only did they destroy American property, they took the lives of over 2000 American soldiers and sailors. Following the attack, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt gave a powerful speech from Washington D.C. asking Congress to declare war on Japan.
