America was founded in 1776, and since then immigrants have traveled to America and have created arguably one of the best countries, if not the best in the world. Currently in the new world, immigration is a widely discussed topic among Americans. Illegal immigrants, under a government program, can earn their residency and be a part of the best country in the world. It’s wrong for children of illegal immigrants to be punish, because they have absolutely no control of the choices their parents of made. This will cause the crime rate to go down because now immigrants will be in control of their actions and think twice before breaking the law. The killing of Katie Steinle last year sparked a massive debate on immigration. Her murderer was Juan Sanchez an illegal immigrant and repeated felon who has been deported over five times. Because of the lack of security so far there are slips in the immigration and people suffer in effect to it. It’s true illegal immigration cost money for patrolling the border and deportation, but patrolling is also for a requirement for national security. Think about it, illegal immigration creates jobs for Americans like the border patrol. Also immigrants do pay taxes like; sales taxes, and paycheck taxes. Immigrants pay about the same as American citizens, although they do not receive the same incentives as Americans. According to the Washington post “about 46.4% of U.S households don’t pay federal income tax” (Brad Plummer). A factual argument against immigration is to the crime rate in the U.S, due to illegal immigrants. The Washington examiner states that 74.1 of drug tracking were caused by illegal immigrants. If immigrants were held under the constitution like an average citizen then they will be more responsible of their actions and the ones who consistently break the law will have their residency
