Illegal Immigration Argumentative Essay

Illegal immigration is a growing problem today in America. Immigrants are coming into our country undocumented and doing as they please. This is not acceptable. The United States government should not allow people to immigrate from other countries because they are taking jobs from teenagers and less skilled workers, they are costing American taxpayers billions of dollars, and they refuse to learn the most common language spoken in America.
American teenagers and unskilled workers are losing the battle immigrants. According to the article “Illegal Aliens Taking U.S. Jobs” from the website www.fairus.org, “One recent estimate by researchers at the Pew Hispanic Center puts the number of illegal aliens in the workforce at 8 million out of an overall population of 11.2 million illegal aliens, i.e., 71.4 percent.” Immigrants are taking jobs that provide vital experience that teens need to enter the workforce.
Taxpayers will have to pay more taxes toward welfare checks. Not only welfare checks, but to means-tested welfare programs as well. According to the article “Examining the Means-tested Welfare State” from the website www.heritage.org “The means-tested welfare system consists of 79 federal programs providing cash, food, housing, medical care, social services, training, and targeted education aid to poor and low-income Americans.” However, this does not mean that illegal immigrants receive these benefits, only legal immigrants. We know this because of the article “How Much Does Illegal Immigration Cost You?” from the website www.amac.us states “In contrast to lawful immigrants, unlawful immigrants at present do not have access to means-tested welfare, Social Security, or Medicare.” It also states “There are over 80 of these programs which, at a cost of nearly $900 billion per year…” Illegal immigrants are raising taxes everywhere and there is nothing we can do to stop
