Ignorance Is Seen In All People
Ignorance is evidently seen in all people. Without regard for who one is, ignorance still affects people and how they behave accordingly. Ignorance is seen in both the intelligent and stupid. This is seen in the quotation from the Daily Intelligencer, which states, “Not only does he see nothing wrong with a system in which wealthy, powerful people meet with him and he delivers them policy favors, his central role in the process strikes him as evidence of his own power and success”. (Chait, J Trump Can’t Stop Undermining His Claim to Represent the Workers Party). Alas, even political powers such as Donald Trump fall victim of ignorant behavior. Although he is a highly regarded political figure, his strong allegiance, and support of his allies

When the government censors information from the public and controls what people know or do not know about the government’s activities, it creates ignorance. Because of censorship, people do not have the information they need to make informed decisions about who they are going to vote for and why. In Fahrenheit 451, Mrs. Bowles says, “I voted last election, same as everyone, and I laid it on the line for President Noble. I think he’s one of the nicest looking men ever to become president” (96). Mrs. Bowles is saying that she voted for a man simply because of his looks, rather than on his plans of how he is going to run the country. There is very little rationale in that this man is going to be running the country, and all people care about is what he looks like. The reason the population does this is because the government censors out all the information, beliefs, and stances on political views so people do not know any better. The government censors out political ideas in the book because they want to control the information that gets to the public. Captain Beatty says to Montag, “If you don’t want a man unhappy politically, don’t give him two sides to a question to worry him; give him one. Better yet, give him none” (61). Beatty is telling Montag that people are happier when they do not have to worry or think about a problem, so by not giving them any information, it is…

While discussing Trump’s business acumen Epstein felt it was necessary to establish that business success doesn’t correlate to political success, however, the two are not mutually exclusive and Trump could be multi-talented. The article also felt it was necessary to mention that Epstein had never read Trump’s book, it also then goes on to criticize the book by stating he has no interest in reading “The Art of the Deal.” This unnecessary and critical comment further enforces the idea that Epstein believes Trump is not fit to be president. In the concluding paragraph Epstein cements the idea that financial success does not transfer to political success. He then goes on to criticize Trump calling him arrogant and claiming his business prowess won’t transfer to his political career. Some of these statements may be based off of truth, but, to be a subjective article one can not put personal opinion in their…

In“Trump’s Bluster Is Heard Around the World,” an article published on Yahoo! Politics by Gregory Katz, sarcastic tone and vivid descriptions portray Donald Trump as a selfish human being to manipulate readers he will not be a good president. Katz’s sarcastic and criticizing tone adds to the negative view of Trump presented in this article;“His is clearly a recognized name worldwide, which is not to say it's a beloved one.” Katz then proves this point by quoting individuals from around the world. In the first description of Trump, a woman who lives next to a Trump resort calls Trump a spoiled “strange fish.” She then describes his toddler-like tantrums, causing an image of diaper wearing Trump whining and flopping for what he wants to pop into our heads. Katz’s next proof is a video of Mexican comedians dressed as Donald Trump performing an act written from his statements. The comedians are all wearing fake guts, Neanderthal clothing, and blonde wigs. Katz writes, “It's striking how many people know of him at all,” as if Trump is some new American celebrity who is just now getting attention for his statements. It is almost impossible to not recognize the Trump name. His name is on everything he owns, and he owns buildings, programs, and boats worldwide. Trump had been known by the world way before he decided to run for president. To end the article and finish his characterization of Trump, Katz writes,“That would be one side of Trump that few if any have seen — one who says ‘sorry’.” Like Buzzfeed and Alphacat, Katz includes mockery of Trump so viewers will chuckle at their possible leader. This humor alongside Katz’s sarcastic and condescending tone alarm readers that Trump is well known, not well…

First, like many of these types of leaders, Trump is suspending truth by replacing facts with propaganda. Professional fact-checkers at Politifact.com found that just 16% of public statements made by Trump could be labelled as “half-true” or better, while journalists who have made attempts to go against his so-called “alternative facts” have been painted by Trump as “slime,” “disgusting,” “dishonest,” and, in the case of a reporter who dared to refute his claim of owning the Empire State Building, “third-class” (D’Antonio 2-3). It is clear that Trump’s open attacks on honesty of the press are more than just a way to silence opponents, but the beginning of an attempt at inflating his own ego and public image. Next, Trump disregards ethics by breaking the laws he promised to uphold as president and getting away with it. The law that Trump may have broken is outlined in the constitution, which states that government officials may not receive gifts from other governments, and by refusing to give up his various businesses to a blind trust, Trump is open to making profit from foreign state-owned companies. Instead, he gave up control of his businesses to his children, one of whom, as the Washington Post reports, has already been included in a presidential meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe (Harwell and…

Donald John Trump is a business later reality television star and now US presidential candidate. We've all heard it before. But what really stands out to make The real estate mogul different from the presidents in history? Throughout his campaign he has produced a straightforward rhetoric often viewed as offensive and laid a platform where minorities may feel threatened. He has appealed vastly to the Common Man by making promises to bring back jobs shipped off to other countries and to cut business regulations. He's promised to build walls and to lay down strict immigration policies. Much of this appeals to the common working class person, who feels like the Obama Administration in particular did not have their back. However, Trump is one…

The thing is women being raped, well, then who’s doing the raping?” (Donald Trump,2016) Trump condemns the Mexicans for being ‘rapists’; Trump foolishly believes that Mexicans sends their worst people in order to bring America down. This source in particular had different sections, but I only viewed one in particular. This section was the 7th chapter from the book, and this chapter dealt with the election of Federico Pena as mayor of Denver. The chapter, discussed different aspects of the election, including the actual election, an analysis of the results, his first term, and his reelection. The overall main point of this source was to demonstrate the impact on Latino politics done by Federico, and how the involvement of not just minorities determined his election, but also participation of Anglo-white support.…

Many areas of student behavior might be influenced by pluralistic ignorance. The practice of hooking up and other uncommitted sexual relations have been influenced by pluralistic ignorance. In a 2000 study it was shown that eighty-six percent of men and eighty-eight percent of women hooked up during their college careers. This process of hooking up has become normative in recent years because students believe that their attitudes and beliefs are different from the norm. Males and females both believe that their sexes are more sexually active than they are in reality. Therefore women try to conform to the norm of hooking up and engage in sexual behavior because they believe that they are unique in feeling discomfort. On the other hand, men…

Set up against the rampant industrialization of the 18th century, Charles Dickens classic novella “A Christmas Carol” endorses the notion that all people have a responsibility to ensure the safety and welfare of every member of society. By taking his seemingly irredeemable protagonist Ebenezer Scrooge on an other worldly journey. Dickens intends to convey to the complacent classes of the age, the necessity of various traits that are essential in life, such as the responsibility for those whom are less fortunate and other vital traits such as charity, generosity and simply caring for others. Dickens warns the reader of the consequences that will follow if these lessons are not taken into consideration.…

The role of ignorance in the novel, The Things They Carried, pertains around the idea of life and death and the way the soldiers become affected by certain events. Most notably, Azar is ignorant of his surroundings. He views Vietnam as a game, as he is always messing around and being immature. For example, “Azar shrugged. After a second he reached out and clapped [Tim] on the shoulder, not roughly but not gently either. ‘What’s real?’ he said. ‘Eight months in fantasyland, it tends to blur the line. Honest to god, I sometimes can’t remember what real is’”(O’Brien 204). Mentioned in the chapter, “Ghost Soldiers”, Azar explains to Tim why he justifies the two of them scaring Jorgensen. Through this quote, we are able to see the “positive” ignorance that is displayed.…
