The IGALI
-The Igali lives in the boreal forest in Eastern Canada.
Habitat
-The Igali takes shelter in cave surrounded by heavy rock. The Igali takes shelter in this cave because it keeps it cool during the summer months and keeps him warm during the summer months. Another reason it takes shelter in caves is because they provide protection from wolf packs. The Igali has adapted to its habitat in two ways, it has developed hooves sop it can easily walk around its cave without slipping. Also the Igali grows a much thicker fur to withstand the cold elements in the boreal forest during winter and sheds it during the summer.
Prey
-The Igali’s only predator is the wolf. The Igali’s main weakness was that it was easily attacked …show more content…
It feeds of brown bears in the boreal forest. Since bears are large animals and like to engage in battle when the Igali threatened has developed two structural adaptations. The first is that it has tusks on its head to ram the bear to the ground during battle. The second adaptation is its razor sharp claws to kill the bear once it has been rammed to the ground. Once the bear is dead the Igali uses its razor sharp teeth to eat it. After years of the Igali eating the brown bear the bears have developed two traits to avoid being eaten. The first is that bear has become much smarter; the bears have learned over the years that the Igali will win in a confrontation so they have stopped standing up to the Igali making it much harder for the Igali to hunt them. The second is that the brown bears have grown tusks and head armor also so when they do get in a confrontation the Igali will have a much better chance of winning.
Linking Concepts
-Bioaccumulation- the Igali is part of the third tropic level. When the Igali
Consumes the bear it only gets 1% of the initial nutrients from the first tropic level, The first
