If You Will Fall For Anything, By Andrew Steinburg
“If you don’t stand for something you will fall for anything,” by Andrew Steinburg. This is a well-known quote that has a lot of meaning. Values are something you should live by in life. Values set standards to help achieve goals. My five values that I cherish are God’s purpose, responsibility, education, honesty, and life. My values help me to guide me to believe my purposes here on earth. Also, I use my values in personal and professional world. Values should be something you truly believe in from the heart and spirit.
I value God’s purpose, therefore I will abide by Psalm 38:8. Psalm 38:8 explain how God gives us a clear vision of what God’s want for us in life. The closer I get to God I understand what he want for me. It gives me the opportunity

When taking the role of being a manager, you have to make sure that the business is in good condition because you are responsible for the positive and negative in business ethics.
I value education, therefore I will continue to obtain knowledge. Proverbs 16:16 explains how wisdom is better than gold. African American wasn’t giving the equal opportunity to get an education. I refuse to take education for granted because people fought hard to give African American the equal rights. I learn something new every day. In business, education will be giving to you. Even, if you are a manager, you still have to learn new things just to become the best manager.
I value honesty, therefore I will be committed to what life has to offer. Honesty should be a top value for everyone. If you don’t live by honesty, therefore, how can you give to your employee’s wisdom as a manager? It is so easy to do wrong, but much better to do right. I will always be honest even when the true hurts. This can also make you responsible to make the right

In order to live day by day, I simply follow five core values that make me the person I am today. The five core values that I live by are: family, education, honesty, responsibility, and open-minded. Core values are important to live by because they are what makes a person and it is important to see someone’s characteristics of what they value. According to dictionary.com, the definition of value is “the regard that something is held to deserve; the importance, worth, or usefulness of something” (dictionary.com, 2016). Like the definition states, values are something of importance and each individual cherishes different values, which they find important and what fits their lives in the best way. My family are the one’s who…

The values that I hold most deeply are friendships, family, and happiness. Values are things that are important in the way I live and work and I believe all of these things play a major role in my life. Since I was a little kid, my values have changed tremendously. Back then, my values would've been playtime, mac & cheese, and chicken nuggets. I believe values mature as you grow and mine definatly did. For example, when I was younger I remember being friends with everyone, but now I only have a select number of friends. This represents values to me. My values inform my actions by them always being my first thought while making a decision. They always play a role in my…

Values can be political, social, moral and spiritual; and the values derived from our individual experience affect our behaviour. They define our self-concept, who, and what, we are; creating our character, forming our attitudes and driving our behaviour. People need to feel that they have a collective identity that they are good at whatever their chosen group does. Mostly, our values are fixed early in life by our parents or carer through a process called socialisation.…

Slaves risked their lives daily just to sneak newspapers and learn from their young masters who loved to play “school”. As the years went on and society changed, it became okay for African Americans to learn, just not in the same environment as “whites”. We were given torn down shacks for schools, hand-me-down books, for literature, and less educated teachers than the white schools. We had no money and no comforts of the white schooling and yet we were more dedicated to earn what they had taken away from us for so long. We built institutions of higher learning with our blood, sweat and tears so that we, as a race, could be considered, in some form or fashion, equal. Now that we have everything at our expense (not to say we still aren’t struggling), we are dismissing our education like it wasn’t ought for by our ancestors. It defeats the purpose,…

Throughout time society has handled education through many different methods and had many different goals for education. Unfortunately one of the more common goals for education has been to either oppress or deculturalize others. Up until the late 1900’s whites widened the achievement gap and keeping themselves on top by either banning blacks’ education or providing an insufficient education to everyone but the whites. The whites’ methods of “education” included deculturalizing Native Americans which made them forget more about their culture and way of life than they ever ended up learning from the school systems that they were put into. African-Americans were seeking any form of education and went to great lengths to get an education. African-Americans…

In today’s society, it is essential to have an education. To be educated helps us as individuals to gain knowledge and be able to understand and interpret information as it is presented to us. Education not only teaches us how to live our life as good citizens but education also sets the foundation and equips us for the generation to follow in the future. We as people must be able to build confidence in ourselves and have the courage to succeed. Never should you feel downgraded, intimated or unworthy of an education because of someone else’s success. Many people have the desire in wanting to finish their goals and ambitions but because of fear in other individual’s achievements, they don’t have the determination to push forward. Suffice to say; to be successful education is a necessity. However, while education is integral to everyone’s success there are some roadblocks, chief among these roadblocks for African Americans is institutional racism.…
