Iep Analysis
From watching the films on IEP, I was first able to identify what an IEP was. I’ve discovered that an IEP is a document that is developed for each public school child who needs special education. My thoughts about the information provided in the films helps better understand their child’s process in school with their education. The information in my thoughts is very useful and effective for both the parent and the child. This is also useful because it provides knowledge and understanding to those who aren’t aware of IEP’s and lack certain knowledge to this subject.

For example, in the film the teachers always make it a habit to notify the parents in all circumstances. Weather it was by letter, email, or by phone. Parents are instrumental because once the students have left school; it’s the parent’s job to finish installing what the teacher has already started in the beginning.
Finally, the IEP process should be a smooth and easy. It should be organized and everything should be already in place. It relieves parents, students, and also the teachers from being stressed out. You don’t want any confusion especially on the student and as well as their parents. You want them to know that everything is ok and working out for the child in he/she’s benefit. As a future educator I want the best learning environment for my students and by remembering and utilizing these key points I believe that it can be accomplished.
As I come to a close, this film on IEP’s was very helpful. It gave much descriptive knowledge that is considered to be valuable. I now feel confident in working with IEP’s because I now know what IEP’s are and how to properly accommodate my students with this process.     Assessment and identification are key elements in education, in particular, special education. Assessing students is essential to knowing where to begin with a student. No matter what the student's ability is or is being, they all need to be assessed.
