ISIS Advantages And Disadvantages
I read about the advantages and disadvantages of the Americans fighting ISIS on their soil. A advantage the Americans have is they are the most powerful country in the world. The Americans have multiple nuclear bombs that could annihilate the entire middle east. A disadvantage is the Americans have no clue what ISIS has, they have idea of what weapons they have or what tricks they have up their sleeve. Another disadvantage is the Americans would be fighting on ISIS territory which is very unfamiliar to the Americans. Also the Americans are at a disadvantage because if they were to send an attack on ISIS it would put innocent lives at risk which would hurt the Americans reputation.

known as Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant and Islamic State. The aim of ISIS is to create an Islamic state across Sunni areas of Iraq and in Syria. It is believed by the Egyptians that Isis’s function was described as being the goddess of love, motherhood, magic and fertility. Isis was a member of the Ennead, the nine original, most important, Egyptian Gods and Goddesses of the cosmogony of Heliopolis (The God’s birthplace). She was once was mortal ruled with Osiris times before the time of the Pharaohs in Egypt. Our heroes are out there fighting for America. But exactly what are they fighting for, because it seems like our own government is hiding information from us. They say that it’s to protect us. Is it really? A government that we call one of our own and one that we trust has deceived us. For the families who are losing their sons, daughters, mothers, and fathers, etc.,who are in the war, are just told that they should be proud of their protector protecting the United States of America. After the soldiers die, the only remembrance of the fallen is the burial. Only families remember their deaths while the government moves on with their business and they say that they care for our people. To me the United States should have never gone to war with…

This is a bold statement although look at the history behind it. ISIS didn’t exist until the end of the 2nd Iraq war. The group started to form in North Iraq. The government was so discombobulated that they just fed ISIS weapons because they didn’t want to fight them/couldn’t fight them because they knew that they couldn’t win. If the United States weren't involved, ISIS most likely wouldn't have sparked and rose to power.…

And while I disagree with aspects of Reynold’s piece, his argument that the U.S. did far more to facilitate ISIS’s rise than Iran is virtually undeniable. To briefly recap: In 2001 the U.S. was attacked by al-Qaeda, a Sunni Jihadist group, which claimed that America’s support for corrupt and insufficiently Islamic governments in the Middle East was preventing it from recreating the Islamic Caliphate. The U.S. responded by launching a global war on terrorism. After forcing the Taliban and al-Qaeda out of Afghanistan, the U.S. turned its sights on Iraq, a country without a terrorist problem that was led by Saddam Hussein, a secular Sunni Baathist leader that al-Qaeda was bent on overthrowing.…

Since 2005, the Islamic group has exceeded doubling and the account of terrorism from this group has almost tripled. This growing terrorist army known as the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham, ISIS, is becoming a threat not only to the east but to the American homeland as well. While approximately ninety percent of Americans “... view ISIS as a serious threat to U.S. national security, there remains confusion over the degree to which the group directly threatens the American homeland” (Gottlieb 2). As technology advances, terrorists are able to assimilate into our systems which can become a hazard to our people. There are both immediate and long-term risks to our country, military improvements being one of them.…

The United States military is the key ingredient in the prevention of terrorist attacks. It’s hard for Al Qaeda to plan an attack when the amazing, all powerful, SEAL Team 6 is knocking on their door and dropping Al Qaeda leaders while the Army and Marines are taking out their foot soldiers. The Taliban and AL Qaeda’s main…

With a ranking like ours why would we sit back and do nothing to stop ISIS? Attacking through superior firepower has proved the most efficient way to eliminate an opponent. For example, when the United States dropped nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki our enemies were utterly wiped out, and World War II ended. Sadly, ISIS is continuing to expand its influence. However, America has slowly involved itself more, and thousands of ISIS targets are being eliminated. According to a study consulted November 13, 2015, by the Pentagon, America has damaged/destroyed a total of 16,075 targets. Without American involvement, these objectives wouldn't have been destroyed. Potentially reaching their destination and killing hundreds, if not thousands, of innocent civilians. American military involvement is crucial to the takedown of…

I will agree with you that ISIS is not a direct or “existential threat” to the U.S. As many of today’s pundits (political figures and media) portray ISIS to be an “existential threat” they are doing it to push their own agenda such as to advance their organizations position, funding or to get those beloved ratings. The word existential refers to the existence of something living, in this case the U.S. population. There are many ways ISIS can hurt or harm our allies, the U.S. and our citizens which has a high probability, however their ability to end the existence of the U.S. or its population has low consequences (NMS 2105, p. 6). Again, I will agree that ISIS is a security threat to the U.S. and our allies, these threats can cause death and…

Because we are engaged in an armed conflict with al- Qaeda, the United States takes the legal position that, in accordance with international law, we have the authority to take action against al-Qaeda and its associated forces. The United States does not view our authority to use military force against al-Qaeda as being restricted solely to “hot” battlefields like Afghanistan.…
