I Want To Pursue A Career In Nursing

When I was a little girl, my grandmother had called my mother in regards to their dog Dewy. When she had got out of the shower she had noticed something very odd, Vince their other day was laying his head on top of Dewey’s back as if something was wrong. My mother and I proceeded to drive over to their house. When we arrived my mother grabbed her stethoscope before we got out of the car. As we walked into the bedroom, Vince still had his head on top of Dewey, I went over and moved Vince to the side so my mother could have a better look at Dewey. She grabbed her stethoscope and went to listen for a heart beat, her faced while listening looked mournful and heartbroken. I asked if I could have a listen, she put the stethoscope on me and I laid it on his belly, I waited for a second, but all I heard was nothing. As sad as this story is, it made me want to help people and try to make them better so I wouldn’t have to experience the agony of death again. This is the even that that started the reason why I wanted to pursue a career in nursing. My mother use to work in home health care. That time she couldn’t afford to have someone watch me all the time, so there were days I got to go with her to her clients houses. Now I know, employers would
I enjoy taking care of patients and making them feel better in a different way than what a nurse would. Doctors have let me sit in and watch and ECT and an epidural be done. The epidural was far more fascinating than the ECT but they were both great experiences. Nursing is a career that I want, something that I know I would love. Finding out that I got into the nursing program brought me into tears, knowing that the beginning of my journey has finally began. I plan not to stop at just my associates, I want to go all the way to my master and be a nurse
