I Too Sing America

“We must stop talking about the American dream and and start listening to the dreams of Americans” said Max Beerbohm. His words are true because every American’s dream is different. Some dream about becoming rich and some dream about getting out of poverty, some dream about investing in a big business and some dream about finding a job. America needs to fulfill all these types of dreams but the possibility of the American dream today depends on several factors that one may or may not have control over, which makes the dream possible for some and not possible for others.

An example would be Louis Krubich, founder and executive producer of Malka Media in New York City. Krubich runs a full service media business offering video production and digital marketing services. He says,
I grew up on Russian cartoons and TV shows. When I'm in meetings and people make comparisons to things from the 1960s or 80s, or when they try to talk about a tone or feel, it's a bit of a disadvantage to me because I didn't grow up on those things. However, I'm able to turn it into an advantage. My ideas are fresh and forward thinking, because I don't know what used to be done.
Taking advantage of his ability and applying it to his job which benefits his company, resulted in success. Sometimes things don’t proceed this way. Harris Roberts, a regulatory affairs director at a major health care firm, who took a four-week executive education program at a top business school, was excited about a job the company’s CEO wanted to offer him. He ended up not getting the job. He wanted to implement in this new job what he had learned in that program but he couldn’t. So, he is now behind where he wanted to be and not satisfied with his American
