I Am Legend Research Paper
Best Film There are many films that I have seen that have left me with my mouth open, but there is one film that stuck out from all of them. My favorite film of all time is, I Am Legend. This film had so many moments that left me in amazement. It is about a man that spends several years by himself trying to find a cure for a horrible side effect that made the human race lose every bit of its human traits, as a result from the cure of cancer. What I loved about this film is that it was not focused on just one specific genre. It was mostly a thriller but it had small parts of Drama, Comedy, Action and Horror. Many people do not think that having so many genres in one film can be a good thing, but this film made it possible in

I could never really get into any other genre. However, I really enjoyed watching Rebel Without a Cause. It was a great movie, and I am very happy I had the opportunity to watch it. The acting was phenomenal, the cinematography was before its time, and the script was near perfection. It was a great movie representing both teenagers and the 1950’s and I hope more people from my generation pull this out of the vault and give the good old-timer a…

Throughout the novella I Am Legend by Richard Matheson, Robert Neville, the last human who is immune to this disease, is an anti-hero. For instance, towards the end of the story, during his state of confusion after he woke up, he felt pain that he had not ever felt before and thought that it must mean it was the end and said to himself ‘’I am going to die’’ (p.164). This statement shows that he accepts that his life will end here and he will not try to fight it in any way in order to continue surviving. In addition to this, after he realizes where he is and what happened, Ruth came to check on him and asks him why he did not leave beforehand like she told him to in the letter she left him. Robert explained to her ‘’I…couldn’t […] I almost…

His film type is usually is relevant with the idea of guilt and redemption. And also modern crime. He makes movies that usually have a very energetic, profanity filled, and an arrogant protagonist. Although Scorcese has a lot of critics he is nominated for an Oscar every single time he makes a movie which is why he is arguably the greatest filmmaker of all time. A man who is just starting to get known in the filmmaking industry is Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu. Inarritu was born in Mexico and has brought his own experiences into his movies. The thing that makes Inarritu so great and original is his cinematography skills. Inarritu is the epitome of a great cinematographer. His movies are so beautifully shot that the moviegoer doesn’t even need 3D to be amazed. For example his most recent movie “The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance” is made to make you think it is a two-hour continuous shot. But in reality it is made to look that way through masterful editing techniques. His movies are also extremely original and artsy. He is not well known but he has won an academy award for “Best motion picture of the year.” These four filmmakers are the epitome of what it takes to make movies…

In 1952 there were multiple fantastic films that made it a close competition for best picture. I narrowed down my list of movies to The Quiet Man, High Noon, and The Greatest Show on Earth. I narrowed it down to these three because Moulin Rouge and Ivanhoe did not perform up to the standards it needed to have a chance at best picture. By thoroughly evaluating these films it has been determined that The Greatest Show on Earth clearly deserved to win its best picture award becuase of its emotional scenes, creative film techniques, and an impactful ending with a twist.…

Many people in our world strive to make our world a better place. Much like a hall of fame which honors sports heroes such as football and baseball players, there should be a hall of fame to honor the people who strive to make our world better place. Aaron Rodgers, Thomas Jefferson, and Rosa Parks should be inducted into the hero hall of fame.…

DS: If it was Dracula vs. Frankenstein, I’m a Frankensteiner. But it was also other things like Tarantino films. I remember watching Reservoir Dogs before I was even old enough. That scene where Michael Madsen cuts off the cop’s ear, I thought that was that coolest thing ever! Also, performers like Alice Cooper.…

Films that I particularly favor are thrillers. One reason Thrillers become so enjoyable for me, a sense of diversion is created making the viewers more indulge in the movie all the way to the ending. The plots are usually twisted, climatic, suspenseful and intelligence is often use far as the writing perspective to result in an ecliptic viewing of the movie. A really great thriller will usually bring a shock factor by the climax, then the movie will receive a better understanding from the beginning to end. Another genre of films I enjoy are Musicals they are fashionable and express emotions through singing. I am really into lyricism so I enjoy comparing the actual expression of the each character's individual story and the progression…

Whether regarded by viewers as the worse or greatest movie to date, the “I Am Legend” movie in my opinion addresses numerous social issues that we as a society face and should be more aware of in today’s era. According to Imdb.com, “The ‘I Am Legend’ movie starring renowned actor Will Smith focusses on “a scientist named Robert Neville who is incapable of stopping the horrible virus once created to cure cancer. At first, the virus looked promising and was given to cancer patients to treat their disease but few years down the line it transformed into a plague which killed most of the people on earth or turned them into zombies. Neville is the only unaffected human survivor in New York and the world, for many years he has been sending out daily…

In the book The Alchemist, Santiago never missed a single moment while he was exploring for his personal legend. He did not quit when he found out that he had to travel through the dessert to get his personal legend. He too did not change after being exploited by a person that he trusted, he still trusted people that he met throughout his journey. People should make sure that they do everything that they can to do the utmost of every moment in their times. They shouldn’t worry about the future excessively though they should prepare for it. More importantly, they shouldn’t let the past define who they are. Their mistakes in the past only make them better, not weaker. As the modern philosopher and professional rapper, Drake, once said: “I was…

Apocalypses are defined as the end of the world, whereas creation represents the beginning. What comes in between? Once an Apocalypse ends, a creation story begins; thus, there is a cycle. This cycle is portrayed by Richard Matheson in his novel I Am Legend. The protagonist, Robert Neville, survives an apocalyptic world war and a dust-storm-carried disease, but he survives alone. He is the end and the new beginning. Thus, Matheson suggests that within an apocalypse, there can still be elements of a creation myth. To truly begin again, Neville must resort to warrior-like behavior: killing. Neville only has the intention of staying safe and finding a companion to make the apocalypse more bearable. However, during an apocalypse, things never go…

U.S. Was one of the greatest experience. You see my Background has a history, which I myself was clueless about. At the age of three my mother was searching for freedom for a better life. My father was arrested and my mother left two month pregnant with an unborn child. The connection was lost and life continued. That unborn child was me. I can imagine what she was to do or how she felt. God definitely had hands on me Jeremiah 29:11.…

According to the assessment, my highest score of 34 was in the category Artistic, next was Social with 32 and my last 2 categories tied at 11 in the categories Investment, and Enterprise(National Center for O*NET Development). In tying this into my Job zone assessment, my results show that I am willing to add more education in order to have a specific career. By choosing to add more to my education, I found my top career choices to be a Mental Health counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, and a Counseling Psychologist(National Center for O*NET Development). This does not surprise me considering I have been pursuing a career in mental health. It is a good exercise to keep your plan in focus. This is important because as many career-counseling theorists suggest, a career path can often change as life changes (Niles and Bowlsbey, 2013).…

One of the main themes of I am Legend is alienation, it is hard to imagine someone who is more alienated than Robert Neville. He is a normal American man, or at least he was until the world changed around him. Simply by being immune to the virus, he becomes first alone (when his family dies, “life shuddered to a halt.”), then a criminal (when he decides not to bury her. “No he wouldn't put her there.”), then the target of frenzied attacks (as the vampires try to kill him, “they came at night with their guns.”), and finally the only remnant of humanity left alive after the world has been brutally extorted of it's living people.…

When thinking of horror films, simple features come to mind for what you need to produce a good movie. Monsters are always a big plus in order to get a good scare factor. A good horror film will have drama that usually leads to the death of a main character or other supporting characters. I believe I Am Legend is a good contender for a low-key horror film. Under the direction of Francis Lawrence was a film written by Mark Protosevich. In 2007 this movie was a big hit in the theaters, for its incredibly gritty and strong story line.…

One of my favorite movies is Fast and Furious, from the first moment it came out the premiere of this, it was something poignant for me to see how all the characters worked as one team, all of them fought for the same goal and the end was victorious despite of obstacles. And the movie met my expectations because there was a lot of action, fighting, dancing, explosions, guns, strong content and above all the good guys always win and the bad guys lose. Car racing was a great thing for me, after seeing a movie like this, the adrenaline makes me want to go in your own car at high speed and become invincible. This is the result of what all the spectators want to see in a movie, a lot of action, fight, violence, and all these requirements makes this genre remains one of the favorites in the world of…
